Tina- no worries...it is not one of those cozies that are more romance than mystery.

I'm enjoying this one as well. I really love the setting of Ashton Falls. I thought it was funny that even though Zoe had only solved 1 murder, she's really excited to solve this one as well. She makes it seem like she's solved a dozen! She just seems really confident. It sounds like she has a really nice group of friends and I think things might eventually start to heat up with Zak!

There are sure a lot of suspects! And there are apparently a lot of Zoe Donovan mysteries as well.
I actually took notes there were so many, so that I could get things straight for the intro for this discussion segment!

I can do the next set of chapters if we're ready to move on.
Nicole - would you be willing to do the last third, say chapters 11-15, and we can hold the last two for a wrap-up discussion?
Zoe Donovan is the heroine here, a 24 year old woman living in what appears to be rural out west. She formerly owned a business with Jeremy Fisher being her assistant. Now they are out of a job and Jeremy has a pregnant ex-girlfriend and he needs money. He gets a job looking after "several hundred" turkeys bound for thanksgiving tables in the next few weeks. Zoe agrees to help out. It is a messy and smelly job.
It turns out that the owner of the farm is recently deceased, dying from a blow on the head which we find out was murder. There are no end of suspects. ANd I mean that, no end! There are children, their spouses, grandchildren, children of a mistress and a lot else. Fortunately, some of this is refreshed as Zoe approaches the number of suspects.
Some other characters are Ellie, Zoe's best friend, Gina the girl bearing Jeremy's child, Levi, a roue whom Ellie likes but not reciprocated at this point, Zak, Zoe's arch-enemy, though not really. He seems unusually perfect.
Well, that should get us started.
