Hello All!
I have been looking for a specific book for a few months now and it's driving me crazy... can someone help?
I dont remember the title or the characters, but i remeber the plot and descriptions very vividly.
It starts at a party on the east coast with a blonde young woman who is bored living with her mother and thinks about running away to see her father, but knows she cant because he is in Texas and it would be too dangerous.
At the same party a blonde man shows up and "kidnaps" her, but he is only foing it because her father has asked him to bring her home safely and she wouldnt come with him. He is a white man, but was raised in a native american tribe.
They struggle along for a while (he makes fun of her for not knowing how to live outdoors) but eventually feels sorry for her and makes a stop at an old woman's house to have a warm shower. He brushes her hair and starts to fall in love. The woman is dying so she gives them her dog to take care of and i think her name was Lovey.
They then move on to a town where everyone looks at them differently because theyre acting like a couple and he is dressed in native american garb. A posse forms and they are chased back to Texas where the father makes them leave. At the end is when they finally realize theyre in love and seal the deal.
It was probably oublished in the late 80s or early 90s and had the characters on the front, Fabio style.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions!

Adele | 1435 comments There is a whole series of books about a blonde, blue-eyed man raised Native American that were published throughout the 80s and into the 90s. Could it be one of them? This is the first book in the series: White Indian (White Indian, #1) by Donald Clayton Porter But your book is more likely one of the later ones. Maybe Sachem's Daughter (White Indian, #21) by Donald Clayton Porter

Upsydaisy817 | 2 comments I dont think this is it since the one I'm looking for was much more girly looking on the front and I think it was penned by a woman. Thank you for the suggestion though!

Duplicate thread from Nov. 4 deleted. Please only post your query once, and bookmark it for future reference. Posting more than once means you're likely to get suggestions in multiple places, which is very confusing.

Since the group is so large, we ask that people only bump their posts/threads once every 30 days. This will expose your post to new members and old members who have been away.
