Anyway, thanks again!

I realize now it was on your author page; when you joined this discussion group the system added the 'ILY' next to your name. That symbol is at the header of this discussion group- so, my bad, yo. ; )
Though it did spark a curiosity in me and I've put out feelers to other terps in the field abt cultural borrowing of signs, especially one so iconic as the I LOVE YOU symbol. (ILY) So far I've found that it is used in Ethiopian Sign Language even though they do not have a corresponding manual alphabet. Anyhoo- I'm itching to read your books regarding Poly-everything! lol You were recommended by an author-friend I've being going to for advice, Nathan Burgoine. Anyhoo-

Yeah, just message me with the deets
I'm new to this group and am wondering if anyone proficient in BSL would be able to help me. I'm writing a novel in which one of the three narrating protagonists is deaf, utilising a mixture of lip reading and sign language in order to communicate. I've attempted to convey British Sign Language using the correct grammar and syntax, and though I've been researching the topic it would be wonderful if anyone fluent would be able to take a look at the phrasing for me.
I would be more than happy to credit those able to assist - I've isolated the sign language phrases so can send a document with them and the spoken English translations. Diversity and representation are extremely important to me as an author, and I want to make sure such representation is accurate.
Thank you in advance to anyone who is able to take a look!
