((I might be able to make him do small swipes at the teacher, lava spiting could lead to a true accident))
Why did this place not have a map? Scarlett cursed under her breath and swung open the closest door. Sooner or later she would have to run into the dorms. Looking in the room, she was met with the signature scent of books and the quiet atmosphere of a library. Nope, it wasn't this room, but instead of turning around, she walked in and marveled at the grandeur of the room.
Damian sat next to a wooden table in the center of the room like he owned the place. Few actually stayed here for studies. And less came for fun. He was the libraries most common visitor. He knew the layout from dragon biology to theoretical mathematics. But even with his bet efforts he had not yet conquered the library. There were still a reasonable portion of books unread by him. He was currently reading "A Guide to the Stars" by Pavian Dyre. Some of his theories were amazing. The book was mainly about constellations. But for a portion of the book he talks about a heliocentric theory. That maybe the sun is the center of the universe. With us revolving around it. The sight of a newcomer entering the room threw many emotions upon Damian. Happiness that one may learn more. But also a tinge of anger because he wanted to be left alone.
Scarlett's eyes met those of a guy that couldn't be much older than herself, and she was tempted to turn back around right then and there. Argh, social interaction. Great. Just freaking great. But there was no way she was going to let some boy's mere presence make her leave. She took a few confident steps towards the bookshelf and scanned over the titles. She selected one at random and pulled it off the shelf. The cover read, "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu, and she was instantly intrigued.
He sat there. Eyeing the girl out of his peripheral while reading the book. He read that book long ago. It was good, but if he was a general, e could do better.
Scar put the book back where it belonged, but she made a mental note of the title for later. "Well, are you going to keep pretending that you're not watching me or not?" she asked, piercing into the silence.
He smiled. "Believe me, if I was trying, you wouldn't know." He said, putting his book down. "What are you doing here?" He exhaled.
"Looking for my pet fish. Come on, genius, what do you think I'm doing here?" Scar replied sarcastically. She leaned casually against a bookshelf and took comfort in the fact that she had her dagger.
"Well, when you initially walked in here, you looked lost. Then you picked out a random book, and put it right back when I started talking to you." He said "are you looking for anything in particular?" He felt like a librarian....
"Your skills of observation and stating the obvious are extraordinary, but, well, I suppose that I am looking for directions. It's not exactly a book, but if you have any idea on how to navigate this place, you'd be a savior." she shrugged.
