Paul - I would agree they are directed at a female audience, but they are a cut above "chick lit".

I was just worried that if it got through it would be a painful read for me but maybe not. Its the problem with slotting writers into genres I suppose. It can attract and put off readers

Thanks, Fiona, for that review. I, too, had been worried that it was chick lit until some people I respect highly gave it a good review. The format may be the only way I can read about euthanasia.
