This was a paperback book - not a golden book. It follows a male character (dog/bear?) who is forgetful and on a trip. I remember him sitting on a bus and in the picture, you can see his binoculars hanging from a tree or something. There is another picture of him on the bus and his backpack is leaning up against a tree. Each page has a lost item for you to find. The language was not for early readers, it was geared towards younger children - very picture-driven which smaller print storyline. We owned the book in the 80's.
