Melissa wrote: "Holy cow my new book is actually selling and being read! There's actual lines on the graphs of my sales report!"Congratulations, Melissa!! Hugs
Congrats Aislinn and Melissa. Happy Birthday Alexis. That is my oldest daughters name, btw; she is 25.
Phyllis wrote: "I started writing my next book. 1200 words under my belt."WOOT! Always exiting to start a new one! Good luck with it. :)
Phyllis wrote: "I started writing my next book. 1200 words under my belt."WooHoo, way to go Phyllis. That's always an exciting time
So. I was at a Special Olympics event (which made it a good day anyway) and had my Kindle. I opened it and read a bit of a book and then closed it... to see an ad pop up for Melissa A. Jensen's latest. Just kinda cool to see an ad on there for an author I actually know!
Thank you Sue and Nathan and anyone I might have missed. :DBest thing about birthdays? Other than cake? Presents and gift cards! Stocking up on books (I'll make sure to show indies some love too) for my upcoming vacation right now. That's my gold digging good thing of the day lol.
Didn't write a word today sadly but did do some promo design work so my day wasn't a total waste.
I started paperback print on demand work for one of my titles thru KDP today AND got a new cover courtesy of Katie Cody designs. Whoop-whoop!!
I'm working my way back into editing nightly since I started back to work. I'm making daily progress again, which was my goal, so that is a very good thing! My second novel will soon be ready to turn over to an editor.
Hmmm....I got a phone call yesterday that I wasn't expecting so soon that could lead to some very large changes in my life. This is vague for a reason and if anything comes of it I shall post again what it is. Let's just say it's extremely exciting. :D
Ah cool, Alex! I don't know if you noticed but what I didn't like are things that Carol for example loved. Goes to show: as an author you can never really please everyone lol
Party At Larry's is doing... okay. It's doing okay. I'm used to shorts sitting around a while before getting some attention, but this one is doing okay. Larry is okay.
A good thing happened - I noticed that I got one more sale on my recent book about really bad customer service. I'm happy because it was totally unexpected. Also, today is a young friend's 18th birthday and my spouse and I collaborated with her parents to get her a really awesome art set. Acrylic paints, brushes, an easel, and everything. She's good at art but needs development, and it makes me so happy to think about giving her a really good start.
Rohvannyn, Congratulations on your sales!! I tried reading the first few chapters aloud to my husband, but was unable to keep from laughing hysterically!!Speaking from someone who enjoys acrylic painting, that's a VERY NICE gift. She'll love it!

Hey, cool! By the way, I LOVED your review. I was truly touched. I'm something of an acrylic artist as well, otherwise it's pen and ink and watercolor.
Regarding the sales, guess what? I went back to check, and found another one - from the EU. So that added another smile to my face.
Rohvannyn, Great on getting another review and from Europe!! HugsLOL! I'm into colored pencils and pastels in addition to acrylics. ; D

Hopefully I'll get a review from the purchase but at this point I'm still celebrating each and every purchase, and reviews are extremely rare. That's why I appreciated yours so much. Colored pencils and pastels are fun, and sometimes on top of acrylics.
Finishing one of those is really something great that happens in a day! I just did one that uses watercolors as a ground but the fine detail is filled in with colored pencils.
I have two good things happen today! I set my romantic suspense for pre-order! Now the real fun begins! Lol! I got a nice email form one of my ARCs telling me that she is enjoying my book! Last week I got a glowing review from another reviewer on the same book! I'm so excited I really think this one is going to be good!!Congrats to everyone on their good things too!
Ember
Ember, Congrats on your pre-order, great review, and positive comments on your work! That's wonderful! Hugs!

An idea came to me on how I can complicate the backstory of one of my characters in my sequel, therefore my plot. BUT not sure if it's a good thing. Also, improved my book trailer based on inspiration bestowed on me. And my bestow, I mean Facebook shoved a book trailer into my face.
FACE...BOOK. BOOK in FACE. Pun?
Finally figured out what I'm making my husband for Christmas. But I only have two days to finish in order to have it on time.
I haven't sold a book in a month, BUT somehow my first book has beed added to about 150 new to-read lists! I have no idea where they found me but I like it!
Melissa wrote: "Okay, so, this isn't going to sound positive at first but hear me out. So I got a proof copy of my book today and I was flipping through it when *gasp!* a mistake! One of my fancy little scene-chan..."Haha Melissa I'm the exact same way! As I reader, though, I notice that stuff and it bugs me. (Not enough to put the book down, but still...) Good for you! :)
I woke up to a clean sink today! Hubby did the dishes before bed last night apparently. It's going to be a good day. I'm a lucky girl. :)
I've been trying to come up with an item that my jumpship captain would give a new born baby for a gift, and while at work, it came to me. It fits the story completely, so I'm happy!
So many positive things going on for people here! I am having a great day because my writing is flowing and the coffee is hot :) Have a good one everyone!
I was listening to a YouTube video about "Reset" and resetting one's life and lightning struck. That light bulb went on and I got another book idea to add to my list bring my grand total book ideas to 16.
I got a cool idea to start a new feature on my blog, and figured out how to do it. Then I realized it will have better results than I thought at first. And I can start the legwork today at work, so I can spend less of my precious at-home time. If I do things right, it'll increase my reach and readership. Not only that, but it will benefit fellow artists and writers.
So yay!
I just found out that my historical series was voted Favorite History Supplement from the Old Schoolhouse Magazine and received a Blue Ribbon Award.
Thanks GG. I was worried about this series. This is the third award it's picked up as a whole series. Some of the books individually have gotten some sort of recognition, but not nearly what the first series did. I was getting nervous that I blew it somehow. It is a great boost- especially because I didn't enter it anywhere. It was chosen by the readers on that site.On another note, I'm proud to say I just got an email telling me my son's horror book was named as one of the best indy horror books of 2016- the article is in the Huffington Post. This is a good day in our household!

Thanks Jane. I am a proud mama. Alex, this is his fifteenth or maybe, sixteenth book. By the time you hit number 15 you'll be on the NY Times Bestseller's list and with hit television show starring Colin Firth as your inspector, under your belt!
