The Something Good Happened Today Thread

Today a song in my car playlist had a cheeping bird in it, and it made me take a moment to look around and realize what a beautiful place I live in is, and that I am lucky to be here.

hehe Nothing like birds to make you realize things. :P
I can't count how many times after going outside I see the cranes, the ducks, and the geese around the natural pond and I take a deep breath and tell myself, "What a lucky woman I am!"
Thanks for reminding me! :)

I reminded you of something wonderful. That also fits the theme of the thread!

Kristen - Happy Birthday to your furry family member!! Sammy is my nickname!
Hugs to All

C.B. I am glad you took the time to enjoy the beautiful place you live. I also love to hear the birds and watch the chipmunks I am so blessed to live in the country.
Happy Birthday Sammy from Bailey my cat and Bud the dog!

I must live in the starling migration path cause they fly past and land in my yard in such huge numbers. There had to have been over 200 birds last week

Good stuff over the last few days - Seeing The Secret Life of Pets again. Seeing The Magnificent Seven which was FANTASTIC! I am dying to see it again.
Since people are talking about their pets, I have to say Teddy, Simon and Lola - just having them in my life brings me joy every day.
And every day I have with my wife is a good day.
I enjoy each and every coworker I have right now, which is weird. I am not a people person at all and generally clash with at least one person at work. But, not this job. Also, my boss is wonderful... because 99 percent of the time he leaves me the hell alone and when he doesn't, he's generally supportive. He's only yelled at me once (and I deserved it).
Well, I should wrap this up. Let's just say I always feel very blessed and every day is a good day in some way.

Sorry. Sometimes people don't get me at all. Then I get in lumber. Hoped you were making a joke. But you never can tell

Nah. The baby is called buster

A really cool thing happened today. There's this older gentleman at my job who's kind of down and out. Today he won a turkey through a random drawing. The poor guy said "great! I'll have something good to eat! I only had dollar TV dinners left." Now he can have a decent Thanksgiving with something he can actually eat - being diabetic, most of the holiday foods aren't good for him. But this is, and I was happy to see his smile.

Congrats Jane. Hope you'll be a proud mother. :)"
Thanks to everyone. I am proud. But there a thing I have learned. It's a weird feeling when you put a book out there. It's tempting to go back and fiddle with it. But that's BAD. Get onto the next project and let the baby wear out its own shoes.

The whole place smelled of woodsmoke and cider.

I know in Canada they have a Thanksgiving- do you have a holiday like that?

As mentioned a few days ago, please avoid bookwhacking in this thread. This means listing costs of your books, telling where to buy them, providing links, etc. We're all excited about being authors, but selling our books to one another is not what SIA is about.

Yep! French fries, gravy, and cheese curds. They do have it in NY, but only in the far reaches of upstate that border Quebec (not sure if it's an all Canada thing, but it should be!). Me, I'm having it in Texas because I'm a rebel like that. ;P

So you had to go through Radiation? After my operation the oncologist told me I would have some, but then it turned out that it wouldn't work for the kind of cancer I have. It's too spread out.
