SOLVED. heroine calls hero's father who gets angry, his stepmom's death anniversary is coming up and he closed off [s]

Hey everyone! I know it's not much to go on but it's pretty much all I remember..I think the death anniversary of someone very close to the hero was coming up and he got distant with the heroine..so she calls his father?( I'm pretty sure they hadn't met yet) when he found out he went kinda crazy..I know it isnt much but I hope someone's knows what I'm talking about..

Update: I think there is a possibility that his father called the hero but he wasn't there so she picked up the phone..but she asked the hero s father questions about him and that's why he got mad (not sure though)

No memory of why he went crazy? (The h was his secret daughter--or his wife's daughter? Her father/mother was responsible for the person who died and she didn't know about it?) And when you say "crazy" do you mean he literally went insane, or just blew up and started screaming, yelling etc?

What I mean is that the main couple got into a fight..he just blew up, there was no secret kid involved although I think there might be a pregnancy in the book (heroine's) the reason he got mad was that she talked with his parents

Ugg, I just read this recently and can't remember which book it is. I can give some more details though.
The heroine is dealing with stuff and the hero helps her through it all, they are in a relationship but he is closed off a bit in some areas. The hero's father calls, and they argue. He explains the arguement a bit in saying that his step-mom's death anniversary is coming up and his dad wants him home for it, but he is unable to come this year and doesn't want to do it anymore. The heroine ends up talking to the dad and the hero blows up and leaves. I'm thinking she is pregnant in this as well.

Omg that's it, I thought she was pregnant as well but wasn't sure so I didn't want to mislead anyone, I'll check some lists based on the info you gave me..Thanks!!!

I keep thinking the hero was military, but of course not finding it on that shelf. Do you remember what he did, or her? I thought he was helping her with something. But of course the details are foggy, hence why I am having trouble finding this, when I know I have read it somewhat recently.:(

Finally found it thanks to Terri it is midnight soul by Kristen Ashley and the heroine wasnt pregnant after all!
