Michael Buchler | 130 comments Is there anyone else here who likes everything in neat little boxes? It's nearly impossible with Sherri's books since she follows what I like to call real-world examples: Nothing is as it seems. But, I think I'll try anyway, if nothing else than to give everyone something to mull over :P

I've divided everything in Tiers. The lower your Tier, the stronger you are. I did these rankings on a individual level. Beings like the Gallu who have insane numbers could probably pose a threat to beings much higher on the totem pole than they are, but individually they aren't that powerful.

Tier 0:
The Primal Source (includes Tiamat, Chronus, Zenobi, Chaos, etc.). Not technically a person or a being itself, it is so powerful that all of the gods and other critters draw power from it.

Tier 1:
The Malachai (Monakribos's line) and the Sephirii leaders. They were soldiers and consorts for the primary gods, which means they were probably stronger than their creators (what use is it if your enemies can kill your soldiers with ease?). I'm not talking about the races as a whole, only their leaders.

Tier 2:
The Malachai and Sephirii races.
The Primary gods
Upper level High-Level Demons (like Cade for example).

Tier 2.5:
The hardest one for me to place, but I think it's a good place to put them, since they aren't quite Primary god or Cadegan level - The Chthonians. Also, I'd put Xev here as well, since he can kill them.

Tier 3:
Source gods (like Cratus).
High-Level Demons
Primary Demigods (like Caleb and Seth).
Thorn

Tier 3.5
Arelim warriors.
Seraphim (from what we've seen thus far).

Tier 4:
Non-source gods.
Lower High-Level demons (demons who are technically high-level but don't have the power to face beings like Caleb).
Mid-Level Demons.
Aristos Were-Hunters.
Possibly some Hellchasers as well.
Dogs of War Dark-Hunters.

Tier 5:
Low Level demons (like the Gallu).
Were-Hunters.
Dark-Hunters.

Any suggestions? Or am I being ridiculous trying to simplify a vastly complicated world.

Malachaibubble12 | 555 comments Ooo this is a great method for organizing the power levels for the series! Great job!

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Not ridiculous at all Micheal. Have to say it looks pretty good. My hat is off to you for organizing it so well. :)

Myst | 734 comments So where would Ash fall? 2.5-3.5? He has some of the powers of a cththonian, yet is a non-source god which you call 4.

And since Katra is more powerful than Ash, 2.5-3?

message 6: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Yeah I think Ash would fall somewhere in the 2.5 to 3.5 range. He is a child of a primary god and since we still dont know for sure about his dad, maybe a high level demon as well.

Michael Buchler | 130 comments I'd put him slightly above 2.5 but bellow 2, since he does have the power of a Chthonian but is still capable of doing things they can't.

Katra I'm not sure about. They state that she is stronger, but we haven't really *seen* her being strong, if you know what I mean. And Sherri has shown that not all of her characters are reliable narrators.

I'd love to see a book on demons. We've basically got an idea about how the gods function, draw their powers and their weaknesses, etc. but we've seen next to nothing on demons. Apparently there are over 9000 breeds (Acheron said so in Inferno I think).

I think Katra is strong because of her conduit powers. Which she demonstrated in one of the books when she sucked out Sin's powers from Artie that had taken them from him years ago. So in a way one could consider her a God restorer that way. Or maybe even a God breaker, pending on how far down she wishes to draw the powers out of someone as well.

message 9: by Michael (new)

Michael Buchler | 130 comments It would also depend on what she can absorb. Can she absorb demons? If so, she can even be T1

message 10: by Charlotte, Cheesy Cakes (new)

Charlotte (charkro) | 1798 comments Katra is also considered stronger than Ash because she can draw on powers from multiple pantheons. Gods who draw on powers within the same pantheon, are weakened when they fight each other.

At lease, that was what was said in Styxx's book. =)

I wouldn't necessarily put Katra in T1, based on a question that someone asked Carl on FB:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

I suppose in a way, she'd be capable of absorbing a demon, since she does have one inside her.

message 11: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I'd put Katra in between Tier 2 and 2.5 because Xev ( who I very much believe is stronger than her due to his parentage) is in tier 2.5. To be honest, I dont think he should even be in that tier. He should be moved up. Both his parents are primary gods.

message 12: by Michael (new)

Michael Buchler | 130 comments I think Xev was stronger, but most of his power was cursed away (or is taking time to return). At full strength both him and Caleb were capable of killing Sephirii, so then I'd definitely put both of them at T2. But they're not that strong anymore, so they moved a bit down the Hierarchy.

Adam (doward) | 165 comments I'm pretty sure Ash is a source god, I remember reading that he does draw his powers from the source. We've also got to remember that Ash can kill just about anything.

I'd also put Were-hunter above Dark-hunter, with the fact that they can time travel, teleport, use telekinesis and shift as standard. When Ravyn became a Dark-hunter Artemis took some of his Were-hunter abilities, like the ability to teleport and shift into a full Panther, as we know he can become a house cat but hes denied his true animal form.

Just my thoughts

message 14: by Slick (new)

Slick | 456 comments As far as i can see you've pretty much nailed it.
I agree with Adam though, as a whole id say were hunters are stronger than Dark Hunters with a few exceptions but with Hunters being Immortal i'd say it would roughly level out.

You've done a great job given all the inconsistencies and false perceptions about how powerful characters are.

message 15: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Can't forget that the were-hunters are also the cousins to the Apollites. And in essence are some of the most long lived Apollites in their own right do to the shifting abilities and a King wanting to save his children...

Adam (doward) | 165 comments when you say the primary gods do you mean the big 6? Cam, Rezar, Verlyn, Noir, Braith and Azura? Because they are definiely more powerful the Malachai (monakribos)

message 17: by Slick (new)

Slick | 456 comments Hmmmm im not sure about where Monaribos stood in the ranks but Menyara mentioned Adarian could have come for them anytime.. and Nick absorbed him...

starting to realize how scary that guy is ahaha
