His eyes widened, and he didn't know what to say for a minute. "Thats...amazing."

"I don't know if amazing is the word I would use for it," she replied.

"Cool?" He asked, giving her a smile. "Because the oldest vampires I remember meeting would be my sister and brother."

"No, not that either," she said. "The older you get, the more bad things happen and the more people you lose. It's definitely not cool."

He frowned, thinking about it for a moment. "Right, I'm...sorry." He said, not having thought about it before. Did Enzo and Emeliana feel that way?

She shook her head. "It's to be expected from someone of your age," she said simply.

He frowned, suddenly feeling like he had to defend his generation. "What Do you have against this era? Sure, we're...not as old as you, but we're not all idiots."

"It's not about your generation at all. It's about your age," she said. "You're too young to understand loss and the pains of not growing old when those around you do."

"Maybe you're right." He replied, shrugging. "But would you think the same if I had been...I don't know, 80?"

"Most likely not," she said. She could easily recall all the things that had happened to her before she had turned eighty, so there was no question that he could understand better if he were even that old.

"Ah, but that is a young age for a vampire, is it not?" He asked, leaning back against the sofa.

She considered it and then shook her head. "I wouldn't say it's all that young. Perhaps for a born vampire, yes."

"So it all depends on if were a born vampire....yes?" He asked, wondering what she'd think about how he was also a werewolf.

"Not necessarily," she answered. "But I don't think that really matters at the moment. I still think you're a very young vampire."

He nodded, looking down. He wasn't sure if she knew that Saying He was Young made him feel... defeated. Maybe because he hoped she would see him as a mature adult.

"It's most certainly not your fault," she said. "You'll grow older and one day you'll understand what I mean."

He smiled a little, looking at her. "I sure hope it's sooner rather than later." He replied, crossing his arms.

"I don't think you can rush time like that," she said, looking him over with slight amusement because she did feel like that was a joke.

"Who knows- maybe I can get help from someone here." He replied, chuckling a little.

"While there to seem to be a lot of....interesting people around here, I wouldn't think that anyone can give you both age and experience," she said.

"Maybe." He replied, giving her a smile. "So, what do you like to do?" He asked, repeating the question she had refused to answer.

"I didn't answer before, why would I now?" she asked, raising her eyebrows. In truth, she really didn't do much with her time except wander and make sure the vampires that were around were behaving themselves.

"Because now, you actually know a little more about me. As I know a but of you too." He replied, giving her a small grin.

"You know my name and age. I think that's quite enough for you to know," she told him.

"Not if I plan on getting to know you better." He replied, shrugging a shoulder.

"I don't like people getting to know me," she said plainly. "So don't bother."

He studied her a moment, unsure if trying to get to know her was...a waste of time. "Does that apply to everyone, or just me?"

"Everyone," she answered. She didn't like letting people into her life at all. She'd been hurt too many times and didn't want it to happen again. The only reason she hung out around Eloise at all was because the girl was pushy.

"And there is no way I can change that?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"If you could erase my memory of the past two hundred years, then yes. Otherwise, no," she replied.

"What if I change your mind instead?" He asked, leaning foward.

"I don't think you can," she answered.

"I think the opposite." He replied, looking more confident than he felt.

"Well, we shall see who is correct," she said, even though she was certain it was her. Based on her past experiences and own stubbornness, she was sure he couldn't change her mind.

His lips quirked up a little, and he sat back. "Go out with me- as friends."

She narrowed her eyes at him. "I don't have the chance to say no, do I?"

"You dont." He replied, grinning slightly. "So, yes?"

"Fine," she said simply, a bit annoyed but at the same time, not caring enough to resist.

"Great." He said, standing up again. "Does tonight sound good?" He asked, grabbing his things.

"Tonight as in later in the evening? Or as in the night after this," she asked.

"Later in the evening." He replied after a minute. "Okay?"

She nodded. "Fine," she answered. After all, she had nothing better to do. Maybe an outing would get Eloise off her back for a while.

He gave her a grin and tipped his imaginary hat before he walked to the exit.

She rolled her eyes and just returned to her book then, wanting to actually get
some reading done.

Time passed and Chastity still sat there reading. It was getting deep into the evening when she remembered that guy who looked like Bruce would be returning any time now. She packed herself up quickly so that she could get out before he returned.

Caleb had been talking to his sister over the phone, trying to humor her with the new pet of his. He hadn't remembered the name of the jackalope, so he just called Jack.

Chastity winced when she saw Caleb coming anyway. She hadn't thought of leaving early enough it seemed, which was disappointing. She was going to have to suffer through this, it seemed...

He raised an eyebrow once he saw she hadn't changed into something else- not that she looked bad, though.

"What exactly are we going to do?" she asked, wondering if her clothes were appropriate for leaving. It was her hunting gear like she always wore, but she heard there were places that wasn't suitable.
