"Carry you? Why?" Blaze asked. It seemed unnecessary when they could walk. It was shameful how infrequently Blaze forgot his vampire abilities were enviable and he rarely used them.

"Because," Mavis started, reaching over to tug on the collar of his shirt in a  "pay closer attention" sort of way. He was cute and all, but easily distracted. "I've never been carried in full vampiric speed and it sounds intriguing. Since there are two of you, and two of us, what better time than now?"

Blaze turned just slightly pink. "Uh, I guess, sure, okay," he said, and even he couldn't quite explain how that flustered him so much. "I don't see why we couldn't."

Rowan shrugged a little. "It's fine with me, if it is with you," he said to Marcie, since it hadn't been her idea. He knew humans could get a little sick from the speed, so he'd understand if she wasn't a fan.

"It's fine with me." Marcie replied, giving him a small smile before she waved her hand. "How exactly does it go? Do you guys have to carry us bridal style or...?"

"Actually it's easier to carry you on my back," Rowan said. He didn't know why media typically went the other direction, though he did know it was easier to pick a person up that way. "If that wouldn't be uncomfortable for you. I can do it either way "

Marcie didn't ask because she'd seen it in the media, but because Bolt always carried Anastasia like that. But now didn't feel like the time to mention it, so she wouldn't. "Piggyback is fine." Marcie assured him, fixing her sweater before going over to him. 
 
"You won't drop me or something, right?" Mavis asked Blaze half-jokingly, turning him around so that she'd be able to wrap her arms around his neck from behind. She'd never seen him run- besides the time he left her, which was only a few minutes ago- so she had no idea.

Rowan sort of knelt for her, not wanting Marcie to have to strain or make it difficult to pick her up. If he were honest, he felt a little awkward about it. Mostly...because of himself really. But he hadn't been the one to suggest this. 

"I won't drop you," Blaze said with a little laugh. When she had her arms around his neck, he reached back and hooked his arms under her knees so that he could pick her up.

"Good." Mavis replied, chuckling under her breath as she rested her chin on his shoulder and turned her head a little so that she'd be able to see him better. "I don't think I'd forgive you for letting me fall. Especially in the rain."

Blaze nearly dropped her then, but caught her before she fell all the way from his back. He hadn't anticipated having her face that close to his. Or what having her close at all would be like. "Sorry," he muttered, cheeks turning bright red again.

Mavis couldn't help but to laugh, something that came so easily when she was around him. She was usually the funny one in groups. "It's never too late to walk instead, if you can't do it." She teased, although she didn't make a move to.

"I can do it, I've never dropped anyone before," Blaze said too forcefully, like he really wanted to carry her. That didn't help his embarrassment, of course. It wasn't like he carried a ton of people, but he still hadn't ever dropped anyone.

"So you weren't going to drop me just now, Casanova?" Mavis asked, amusement obvious in her voice as she tightened her hold on him. If anyone walked in on them, it would be hilarious. The only reason she did this now was because Rowan and Marcie had already left. "How many girls have you carried around, anyways? Enough that I should be concerned?"

"Not- not many," Blaze answered, shying away from the question. It was lucky he literally couldn't look her in the eye, though he could feel her face very close to his and that wasn't much better. It wasn't like he hated it or anything, but it certainly wasn't helping his concentration. "If you want to go like this, I think you're going to have to stop talking."

"Why?" Mavis asked, trying to keep herself from sounding so amused as she leaned her head a little closer to his ear. She was so close that it was easy to hear his heart racing, and that was... amusing. "Is it because of some technicality or because you don't want me to figure out you're lying to make yourself sound more confident? Because I can feel your heartbeat, you know. It's racing." She said, in a way that made it sound like she didn't believe that reasoning either. She was close enough that her lips were practically brushing against his ear, and it made her pause. Mostly because she wasn't sure of what her endgame was. But rather than trying to figure it out, she lowered her hand and moved it over his heart. "You wouldn't lie to me, would you...Blaze?"

Blaze closed his eyes for a second, swallowing because he felt in some very deep trouble that he didn't know if he wanted to climb out of. Then, he turned his head a little to look at Mavis, completely lost for words.

Mavis was expecting some sort of slip or cardiac arrest or something other than what he gave. For some reason, his silence made her pause and she didn't know what to do. At least for a little before she remembered what they were doing and she was able to give him a cocky smile. "Waffles?" She asked, returning her hand where it had been previously.

The fact that she changed the subject was at once both relieving and disappointing. She was still too close so that didn't help, but it seemed like...she didn't want to be in that deep trouble right then either, which he understood and respected. Reciprocated, even. So he smiled and made sure he was holding her well. "Waffles," he agreed before speeding off with her.
