"My mom left me when I was born." He said, clearing his throat. "My father's a werewolf and...I don't know him."

"You too were not raised by your own parents?" she asked softly.

He shook his head, still looking at his hands. "My mother was- is- incredibly naive. My father? Never met him, so I can't judge."

"I never met my father either... But my mother was killed by witch hunters when I was very young," she said quietly, wrapping her arms around herself.

He looked at his hands again. "I'm sorry for that.."

"Don't say it like that. That makes it sound like it's your fault," she told him. She didn't mind him saying sorry, but the way he said it was...off.

"Sorry-" He replied, wincing. "There a just something about you that- nevermind, it's strange."

"Speak," she said in a more stern tone. She was done being vulnerable for now. Far too much of that lately.

"I feel guilty - as if I caused your pain..." He replied, looking at her.

She shook her head. "It's not as if you have any control over how you look," she said. "I should just get over it because circumstances won't change."

"Maybe." He replied, shrugging. "but getting over it don't help at all."

"We'll see," she said simply and looked away.

He cleared his throat, looking at her. "Will you be going to the dance?"

"Possibly," she said. "If I do, it's only because I'll be dragged there. I do'nt understand the importance of dances."

"Hm..." He replied, not saying anything for a moment. "What would you possibly be dress as? If you go, I mean.."

"I'm not sure. Something....more traditional," she said, thinking victorian or something like that.

"Interesting..." He replied, rubbing his jaw before shaking his head. "How's your arm?"

"It's fine, it will heal soon," she said, still not looking at him.

"Good, good..." He replied, biting his bottom lip.

She glanced over at him and examined him for a long moment. "It's getting late. Perhaps I should go."

"Right..." He replied, clearing his thraot. "Do you think you can maybe text me on how that goes?" He asked, nodding at her injured arm.

"I don't text," she said simply. She didn't even have a cell phone because she didn't like to use them.

He sighed, putting his hands into his pockets. "Maybe see me tomorrow?"

She looked over at him and was silent for a while. "Perhaps that would be acceptable," she said quietly.

On her daily dose of being around people, Chastity sat out in her common room, once again reading a book. She was almost finished with this one, luckily. Bu of course that would mean that tomorrow she would need to venture out to the library....but hopefully no one would be there then.

Eloise was returning from one of her nightly walks when she spotted Chastity by herself. She winced since she hadn't seen her roommate in forever. Both had seemed so busy with their own things that she forgot to check in with her. Without saying anything, she sat down across from her and waited for her to notice her.

Caleb walked in a few minutes later, looking around before he realized Chass was there. He smiled a bit, not noticing the other girl before he sat down next to Chass. "Fancy seing you here..."

Chastity looked up from her book when he sat down next to her, but also noticed that her roommate was sitting across from her. Maybe taking her social time in a social place hadn't been the best idea, seeing as how two people who liked talking to her were right there. "You should know that it's my time of the day for this," she mumbled in reply to Caleb as she put her head down into the book again.

Caleb raised an eyebrow, looking at the cover of her book. "One of the many reasons I decided to walk in here, actually." He replied, clearing his throat as he looked up at her. "I'm here to ask you on a date."

Chastity raised an eyebrow as she looked up to him again. "Why? I don't need pity and I'm certainly not going to help you fulfill a dare, so you can just leave now if that's the case.'

"Its not." He replied, shaking his head. "I like you, Chass. A lot. I'm not trying to fulfil a dream or anything, just...to take you on a date."

She looked him over briefly, impressing herself at how little she flinched at the nickname. "Alright...I suppose it couldn't hurt anything," she conceded, looking away again and closing her book. "Not now, I would assume."

"No, not now." He replied, studying her for a moment. "How about today, at eight?" He asked, actually surprised he'd gotten this far. Sure, she might be doing it because she pitied him...but what the heck.

She nodded slowly. "Fine then....8 o'clock," she confirmed. It was better, anyway, since she didn't like to go out in the sun any recently. It was more and more uncomfortable as of late, and at eight, there wouldn't be any sun at all.

Eloise suddenly felt awkward. The reason Chastity hadn't been spending much time with her was clearly because of this. She felt bad because she told her all about Jason, but Chastity never seemed interested in dating. Maybe she didn't know her roommate as much as she thought she did.

"Then it's a date." He replied, grinning a bit as he finally stood. "Do you want to meet back here, or...?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Back here is fine," she answered simply, looking down at her book again. "I'll be here then."

Caleb smiled a bit before nodding. "See you later." He said, tipping an imaginary hat before walking away.

"So, you have a boyfriend now?" Eloise finally asked after he left, curious. "You never mentioned anything about one. I didn't even think you wanted one,"

"He's not my boyfriend," Chastity said to Eloise. "He's an acquaintance and I'm humoring his desire to take me out on a date. I do not want any more attachments."

She frowned slightly, since she had a feeling Chastity was lying, but didn't call her out on it. "I'm sorry I haven't been spending much time with you," She said instead. "You've probably been lonely, even though you won't admit it."

"I make a point not to get lonely," Chastity replied, still refusing to look up from her book. "I've done that part, but now I don't let it bother me. I'm sure it bothers you more."

"It doesn't really bother me, but I miss spending time with you," She said honestly. "I haven't really had anybody to confide in lately, and I barely see you even in your room. I've been worried about you,"

Chastity finally looked up at her, looking thoughtful. "I don't see why. I don't even think I'm that good at listening..." she said. "And I'm only in our room long enough to sleep, like always."

"But I really want to be friends with you. If you thought I was going to stop in my goal, then you're mistaken," Eloise stated. "That was my first goal when meeting you and it still is,"

"I don't understand why," Chastity said again. "Unless of course that the answer is you have some issues and think you have to 'help' every person who likes to be by themselves."

"I just want to make friends with people, is that really so wrong?" She said quietly. "I want to make friends with people to show them I'm not a threat just because I'm a vampire. Since vampires aren't supposed to make friends,"

"Exactly. Vampires shouldn't make friends. Because then, their friends die, and they're filled with pain that should have never occurred in the first place," Chastity said a bit too snappily.

"Not if they make vampire friends," She whispered, looking down at the ground.
