Is Voltaire’s portrait of Eldorado optimistic or pessimistic? Why?

His experiences during his short time there convince him of the "perfect" world of Pangloss teachings, but he finds other things he wants more. Wealth and riches in gold and jewels seduce him into re-entering the "imperfect" world.
