The character of the very old nun fascinated me, and I was thrilled to see a practitioner of calm abiding and loving kindness depicted so beautifully in a novel.
I'm also exploring Ozeki's blog, and she devotes an entry to the woman who inspired the character. Good stuff! http://www.ruthozeki.com/weblog/archi...

Ruth Ozeki is a fascinating lady!! I'm going to hold my proverbial tongue right now but I can't wait to talk about how she inserted herself into the novel.

Indeed... the character "Ruth" was pretty interesting. Can't wait to hear what you think Anna.

Interesting interview with Ozeki about placing herself as a character in the book: http://www.bookslut.com/features/2013...
