Damon walked back to Veratri, rubbing her neck and placing a hand over the hilt of his sword.

Veratri smiled thinly, eyeing the dragon up and down. "I was named Veratri," she stated, wondering if it was too early for introductions. "I must apologize for my rider. I hope you don't hold his words against him," she told Ro'Daar, "He is insistent that I be his only friend," she said, giving Damon a cutting glance.
Anya was pretty much ready to explode. "Who do you think you are?"

((lets see here, Ro'Daar = 50 meters
Veratri = about 20 feet
Ro'Daar = 50 meters = about 164 feet
164 - 20 = A 144 foot difference!))

"I do not care for the insults of humans," he shrugged. "They are like worms," He said bluntly. "My name is Ro'Daar," he said with a slight head bow.
Damon turned to give Anya a look, "I'd rather not give my name out to the common folk." His dark boots, kicked up a puff of dirt as he stepped away from Veratri.
"Oh, no, they are nice and kind!" the young dragon insisted, "At least, a lot of them are," she said hesitantly, as even a few humans she couldn't help but detest.
Anya shot a look over at Ro'Daar with a sigh. This was going to be tough. "I get the feeling you're trying to goad me into something," she said, smirking knowingly. "I'd much rather you ask it outright."

Ro'Daar snorted. "The lot of them are land stealers, they have no right to hold us so," he growled.
"Goad?" He repeated, his eyes sparkling. "No such thing, in fact I was merely on my way to the pavilion when I ran across you. Unfortunately you've spoiled my appetite."
She shifted uncomfortably, unwilling to speak her mind in front of this dragon, unwilling to seem foolish. "I thought they got the valleys and we kept the mountains."
"And it was the greatest pleasure to do so," Anya growled, gritting her teeth and turning her back on the creepy guy. He was insufferable!

((You are!))
"Just being honest? You made it a point of your day to call me aside, call me a drunken monkey, then claim I've called my second dragon a cow!"

((SECOND... dragon))
She wished she was taller, but she was wise enough not to engage a fight. That must be what he was aiming for.

"I wasn't under the impression we were doing any such thing. Just interacting, nothing to worry your ancient head over." Damon replied tersely.
She remained silent, turning to glare stonily at him. "Truthfully, you're an ignorant prig and I don't know how or why you were accepted into the program as you are uncooperative and viscous to complete strangers." She would be writing a report.
Damon laughed, "so now personality traits are required to be in this school as well? Interesting. Considering you look about twelve, and call your dragon a cow. Hows that for species cooperation?"
"It's just honesty," she said, looking up at Ro'Daar, her words meant for Damon. "And yes, it's pointless, let's go."
"He is just a small tool," he said to her, aware of who she was insulting, letting her back on if she cared to be.
She shot Damon a glare. "For your information, I'm 18," she said, and it was relieving, in an annoying way, to not be recognized as the girl who killed her own dragon. It would have been more relieving if he was a friend instead of an angsty guy a few years older than her with the mentality of a hormonal fifteen year old.
She could have confided in Feldrer her exact feelings, but this strange dragon? No, not yet, probably not ever. She sighed sadly.
"I do not know why you let worm s get to you," he said. "Your life is far to short to worry about anything," he said once they were out of ear shot.
Damon nodded tersely, and mounted Veratri, "let's go," he said. "Head towards the forest in the human territory, I'll have you drop me off at the border. I have some business there."
"You didn't have to be so rude," Veratri snorted, having recognized Anya. "She would have made a lovely friend."
Anya nodded. "I suppose you're right," she agreed, "Though I suppose I'm just another worm, and my worries mean little."

"I told you young one, I don't need any friends." He replied coolly, his tone blatant against her pleas.
"You make far too many enemies," she said, feeling slightly ignored and subdued. "Besides," she said hesitantly, "That one's a dragon killer..." She looked away, nervous, since she didn't like thinking of dragon killers as part of the program. She hadn't addressed the girl at all, but she understood the situation.
"I won't let her hurt you," Damon interjected fericly, his tone turning cold. "You want me to befriend a girl like that? Silly girl, I wouldn't put you in that situation."
Mr. Rock is timid wrote: ""Yes, if you could live as long as me, then they would be worries worth going into," he said."
"Yes, but even an ant has worries compared to a human. And even a human can cherish whatever worries pass in and out of their life, like bitter-sweet spices." She sighed dejectedly.
Veratri hesitated, not wanting to be misunderstood. "I'm not silly. Her dragon attacked humans and killed many and she was sent to hunt it down and kill it and he was huge for his age!" She blurted it out, neutral, for the most part. She wasn't exactly on the side of humans or dragons, which made her awkward.

"Yes, well ants lack the time to get many of the things they worry about done," he said, only hearing about the puny things called insects.
"Well, I suppose in the end it was for a good thing." Damon conceded. "However, don't worry about her. If you ever feel like she has it out for you, all you need to do is tell me." He patted her back, "you're not silly, it's just an endearing expression of affection."
"But as you said, time is short, all the more to be treasured," she smiled. Besides, a bond lengthened a human's life significantly. How they knew this? Ancient records, rumors, really.
"Yes, so I don't need you getting mad at stupid humans who like to fight, I rather not have to waist time waiting for you," he said.

Veratri's face turned reddish under the scales around her eyes. The blue scales made the blush seem purplish. "I'm not frightened. I'm just saying you make too many enemies." And that dragon... She would have loved to get to know him. He was about fifty times her size, but, wow. If only she were older and larger. She purred a little at his 'term of endearment'. She was a sucker for his flattery.
Anya sighed. "And yet you say I don't have time to waste while you have all the time in the world to waste. All right, so let's service all your desires."

"Have I introduced you to enough male dragons?" Damon queried her, sensing some sort of powerful emotion going on.
"I would like that, but I assume you would not do it," he said. "I would have loved for someone to help me with the molten lava that dries on my tongue," he laughed.
Her eyes widened slightly. "I'm familiar with many dragons in the dragonhouse," she said hesitantly, totally and utterly embarrassed. Did he really just offer to play matchmaker with her? "Do I introduce you to enough female humans?" she retorted back.
"I bet you'd love to accidentally swallow as well," she smiled grimly, scratching a place below where his ear was. Feldrer had liked that a lot. She thought for a minute. "You could get your tongue scraped."
