I am a new librarian and not sure how to do this correctly. For the Michigan Murders ISBN 0671508520 the description is for a much newer edition. The description listed is for a 2000s edition based on the author being dead. This edition is from Feb 1978 per the book so there is no updating heere. The manual says not to change descriptions, but this one is wrong. What is the correct thing to do here?
Also the pub date on my title page says 2/78 but the listing on GR says Dec 77. Not sure how that works on the same ISBN.
Thanks for any instruction on this from more experienced librarians!
ISBNs are frequently reused especially for newer editions of the same work by the same publisher. Whichever edition is added to the database first gets to keep the ISBN.
