Also, this week has already been chaos. After I left work yesterday, a girl from my class was left outside ALONE for over an hour. Apparently my team teacher didn't double check the list or make sure they knew who was in our class before she went home. first mistake. they didn't count the children while they were playing to see how many there were outside. second mistake. they went inside without checking the whole playground. third mistake.
then no other teacher noticed that there is a kid outside when there are clearly windows. they had no idea she was missing until her dad showed up and she wasnt there. granted, she is a hider and the teachers that came in arent as familiar with her. but still there has to be more work than assuming you have them all.
my part was I was passing out snack when she arrived and my director brought me her coat which happened to be another childs. so in the process of talking to her and getting child settled, I forgot to sign her in. but we both knew she was there.

which happens alot and typically gets fixed when we're looking at the list and wondering why the number is wrong and whose name is not there.
when we are outside and they are playing, I am constantly moving and counting, not even consciously sometimes just to make sure they are all in my line of sight.

so now we have to have an emergency staff meeting, hourly counts, we cant come inside without a director present, and more.

complete chaos.

Alright so just recently I realized that this October is 5 years since UU was created! I think we should start planning something big and special. If we start now, it gives us four months to get everything ironed out. I know we talked about some things before, so maybe some of those we can implement for this.

For the next two weeks or so, I'd like all of us to shoot out any random ideas you can think of for the anniversary festival. No matter how crazy, juts say it. And if you remember any things from the past we had talked about but never got to do, just shoot those out too! After that, we'll compile and make cuts and everything so that we can have a refined plan. I know it's three months off, but I'd like to get as much nailed down as we can so that maybe we can advertise.



So that being said, last night I thought that maybe we should do a maze, like a labyrinth sort of thing and people can go in as teams to try to solve it. We could even have a "minotaur" if we wanted, to mirror the Greek myth.

Ooh interesting. Well, I know that we had been talking about a kite festival of sorts to honor the past and perhaps use it as the anniversary festival. The maze sounds really cool. We were also talking about the scavenger hunt around Easter that we never got around to.

It's also the only one with an O in it, so it's just an O thing. And I suppose it's just the problem of the font to have the O so vastly different.
