It seems totally random to me, too! All of the sudden they're not getting along!?!?! What? They used to have so much in common!!!
It was like she scrapped everything and started over (and not for the better).I love Little Women, but I hate it when gentle fiction writers hold that up as the ultimate standard and model every original work after that.
It seems like the authoress is setting up for a direct rip-off of Little Women by doing a Jo/Laurie relationship with Sky and Jeffrey (it won't work out kind of thing) and setting up Batty to marry Jeffrey (like Amy and Laurie).
Why would she do this when she had such an original idea before? Sky and Jeffrey perfectly complimented each other and it really seemed like she had it set up for this from the very beginning.

I think that Skye is having a problem because she feels like all Jeffery cares about is dating her, Which in my opinion is partly true, and she doesn't say she doesn't like listening to him. She says that she doesn't like the music he sends her, which is understandable from skyes point of view. She just wants to be friends and he always wants to be more. Which is probably frustrating. But I totally agree about them being perfect for each other. I mean they are the best together. All in all I think that the author is trying to convey Skyes feeling in a good way, and i don't think she's just gonna do a little woman knock-off.
I don't understand some of the new things that the authoress has suddenly introduced.
Why do Jeffrey and Sky suddenly have a problem? They got along great in the other books. Suddenly Skye says she 'zones out when Jeffery talks about his music', that she doesn't understand him. In the previous book it said that Skye LOVED listening to Jeffrey talk about music, even if she didn't always understand it....this is just one example of how the authoress has done an about face.
DON'T LET JEFFREY AND SKYE FALL APART - PLEASE!
