I'm behind the times once again. ^^;;; My library actually just purchased these, so I'm just starting to read it now.
I did not realize this was Bisco Hatori of Host Club fame. The only reason I figured it out (despite the obvious "From the creator of" stamp on the back) was a comment in one of the side panels. I don't know how I didn't realize this, since the art style is... well, now that I know I can see some of Host Club's previous style in it, but it still looks different enough that, had I not been told, I might not have figured it out...
Am I the only one who experienced this?

I like Ranmaru's character, though I know some don't. It's difficult when you have that sort of insecurity that you accept responsibility for things going wrong. Even if something is your fault, most people don't fall to pieces, but it weighs heavy on someone like Ranmaru. I just identified a lot with that. Hopeful to see him gain some self confidence.
The romantic elements seem like they are going to be a slow burn. I'm curious if the dark haired girl he is staying with (was she the one named after Coppola?) will factor into that.
I can see why Ranmaru could get on a person's nerves eventually, but with the other characters to balance things out, it doesn't get too bogged down by his insecurities for me.
I'm only about halfway through the first volume, so I haven't seen much hints of romance yet. Soh doesn't seem to play much of a roll in the story at all where I'm at, so I'm not sure if she'll be a romantic interest at all or not.
That, and they're related, aren't they? Soh says at one point to not "be too friendly on the street, just because we're related!!" This is anime, though, and "cousins" seem to get together an awful lot in these things :p

I wasn't sure, since it's been a bit, but yeah, I think they're maybe cousins. I was thinking more her developing a crush and being unrequited (it just being more of a Senpai admiration, not totally romantic), though the "non-blood related" twist is in the back of my mind too. x)
But yeah, there's some other slow burn relationship stuff going on. Nothing heavy. I picked this one because it skews more towards developing friendships and bonds where each character relies on each other as a group to get things done.
It's nice to read a shoujo manga where relationships aren't the main focus. I like stories of teamwork and facing non-romantic adversity.
Plus, I love that this is all behind the scenes stuff. There are tons of manga out there about trying to be an actor/singer/idol, but there aren't too many about the people who make that stuff possible. :) I find the behind the scene stuff more entertaining anyway (which is why I watch too many "making of" documentaries :p)

I just finished volume three.
I still really enjoy it. I tend toward the stories with the zany characters interacting with each other, so this one's right up my alley.
I'm not sure what my favorite story has been so far, but I did really like the "haunted house" story. I'm a scaredy cat when it comes to these things, but having had a brother who volunteered in a haunted house a few Halloweens, I really appreciate a good "behind the scenes" of them. :) I even know a few make up tricks from those days.

It’s two months into Ranmaru’s college career, and if he’s learned one thing, it’s that he’s really uncomfortable around other people. But when he stumbles into a zombie mob attack, he’s forced out of his comfort zone in the most dramatic way possible! Of course it’s just a movie shoot, but when he wakes up from his ignoble faint, he’s been whisked away behind the scenes with the Art Squad! Could this group of weirdos be what Ranmaru’s been looking for all his life?!
