SOLVED Which David Wishart/Marcus Corvinus book is it? Looking for specific scene...

I know it's one of the Marcus Corvinus series by David Wishart. I have a scene stuck in my head, but I cannot figure out which book it's from and since there are 18 books...

The scene involves Marcus (the detective) has just been beaten up by some thugs. He is supposed to meet his wife (Rufia Perilla) and adopted daughter (Marilla). I don't recall who gets to the meet-up first but both Perilla and Marilla and dismayed that Marcus gets beaten up and he blows it off (as usual).

To be fair, Marcus seems to get beaten up by thugs at least once very third book or so, but I there is only 1 book when it happens right before he plans to meet up with his family and that's the scene that is bugging me. I think it is probably one of the earlier books (post Sejanus) but before late book (like Solid Citizens) but I could be wrong.
