This book took me awhile to get into, but I am so glad I stayed with it. Such an amazing story of life in the woods, in a logging camp, cooking food & celebrating the joys of life.
I really enjoyed the setting of this book - the woods of Michigan. Reminds me of Minnesota. Also, the book flowed very nicely. I haven't had a book that flowed that well in awhile.
The descriptions of events, like Christmas, were spot on & made you feel like you were there. I could almost smell the pine trees & turkey in the oven.
I would not put it in the "Christmas" category, but it is a feel-good book with some "suspenseful" moments to keep the mind on edge. It is set in the winter months, though, so there's that.

This was a very well written, clean book.
