Uschi (uschi1) | 4 comments Modern-era story of a man found frozen in ice who is revived and discovered to have lived centuries ago (by a female scientist I believe).

He speaks a language they finally discover is Latin, but which wasn't recognized right away as he pronounces it differently than one thinks nowadays.

Read it around the 80s in Germany, but quite certain that it was translated from English.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Uschi (uschi1) | 4 comments Hi Andy, Thank you for your interesting suggestion, but "Centurion's Empire' is not the book I'm looking for, unfortunately, as there was no time travel involved.

There's no time travel in Centurions Empire, just several "freezings".

Glad you found your book! I'm curious about the gladiator's perspective on 20th century culture. Adding it to my TBR list. Thanks :)
