Attributed quote to character in book not author

Hi During the past 2 days I have added two quotes - both attributed to Gerhard Wobser, the main character in my book. I now realize that I probably should have attributed them to me as he is not an author. What is the proper protocol as far as attributing quotes? And, what should I do to fix this?

Quotations are usually attributed to the author of the book that the quotation is in.
