Playing back books on Audible app on iOS devices - problem

When I play an audiobook on the Audible app on an iOS device (iPhone 4 or most recent iPad) at slower than x1 speed, I get an echo that makes it impossible to listen to. I need to make the speed slower. Is there some way to get rid of the echo? Is it a glitch in the compatibility of the Audible app and iOS?

I use Audible for IOS and have had no problems. I would do a reinstall and then see.

I found the Audible app becoming really slow on iPhone 4 (as was everything else..). No problems on my new SE.

However, you can get sometimes echo or funny sound when using a certain combination of apps that all use sound. Restarting solves it.

I use iTunes before, but I found it is always crashing. I have tried to use AMusicSoft Audible Converter to change the audiobook file format for several months. It helps me convert audiobooks to MP3 format and upload them to my devices such as iPhone, mp3 player, or iPad! Now I can listen to them easily.
