Rowan walked with Terra, not sure what they were doing, if anything. They just had some free time and an outing seemed like fun.
"Oh wow, Christmas," Rowan said, having not realized it was close. "Um....this is the first one I've spent away from my parents. Maybe Grandma and Grandpa will be doing something for it. Oh, that might explain why Uncle Gray is gone, he went to go spend the holiday with his kids. I didn't think about that."
Terra frowned a bit and smiled gently and held his hand. "Well, we could do something if you want? Nothing big, just meeting up and spending Christmas or Christmas Eve together." She suggested, not having anyone to spend the holiday with.
"Sure, that sounds fine by me," Rowan smiled at her. "Christmas always gets blown up so big with my family, maybe a smaller one will be nice."
Terra smiled. "Great. So small Christmas it is." She said and then suddenly realized, this would be her first Christmas without her father. Without any family at all.... She frowned and looked down, the shock of being an orphan hitting her again.
"N-nothing... it's just... It finally hit me that I'll never spend another holiday or birthday with family ever again.... I'm an orphan now.... I don't have anyone or anything..." She said softly and tried to fight back the tears.
Rowan paused for a moment. He had forgotten she didn't have family anymore and now he couldn't imagine what that would be like. Here he was, grateful for a quiet Christmas without his family for once, when Terra didn't even have an option. Rowan chewed on his lip, not sure what to say. He held her hand tighter. "I know I'm not your family, but I'll be here for you - with you - if um....." He trailed off, not knowing where his words were going though he knew his intent.
Terra smiled softly, knowing what he meant and kissed his cheek gently. "Thank you." She said softly and held his hand gently.
Rowan smiled a little. "And I know it wouldn't be the same, but if you wanted a family Christmas with all the food and everything, I don't think anyone would mind if you and I went and joined my siblings with my grandparents...."
Terra frowned a little bit. "But I thought you wanted a small Christmas? And I want to be able to have a special Christmas with you..." She said softly.
"That is what I want," Rowan said. "But I thought I would give you an option, in case you wanted to..... Basically I didn't want what I want to be the only option for you."
Terra smiled softly and gently kissed him. "You're the best. But I'm fine as long as I'm with you. We can keep it small." She told him.
Rowan smiled at her. "So then only one question remains.......what do you want for Christmas?" He asked, ready to listen.
Terra giggled a bit and smiled. "I don't need a gift. I don't. I'm happy just spending the Holidays with you." She told him happily and kissed him gently.
"Well I want to get you a present, so what do you want?" Rowan asked. "If you don't tell me, I'll just guess and it'll be a surprise."
Terra giggled a bit and smiled. "I like surprises." She said and smirked. "And I'm gonna get a surprise for you."
Terra frowned a bit but then smiled and nodded. "Okay. I'll meet you in the food court at 1:00?" She suggested. It was 10:00 now.
"You have my number if you get lost?" Rowan asked to make sure. He didn't want them to stay split up and one of them be sitting somewhere, not knowing how to find the other.
Terra laughed and nodded. "We're wired. I'll see you at one." She said and smiled, kissing his cheek before walking off happily, already having an idea on what to get him.
Rowan smiled, but as soon as she was gone he pulled out his phone. He had no idea what to get her! He'd never had a girlfriend and hadn't ever really bought presents for his sisters, but he wanted Terra to like whatever he got her. So he called his sister for help.
Terra looked around as she walked and smiled. She was hoping to get the parts to make Rowan his own cycle. She had the blue prints from her own but she knew it would take a very long time and lot of work to replicate some of the parts. She continued walking, though she had an eery feeling she was being watched and followed. She shrugged it off as paranoia after the attack.
Rowan wandered the mall, going wherever his sister directed. It would probably be easier if she was with him, but he didn't have the time to wait for her to get there. So he just let her tell him where to go and what to look at, only giving input sometimes.
((sure))Terra lugged her heavy bag to the food court. She'd been able to find all the parts and tools she needed for the first half of building. She sighed tiredly and looked around for Rowan.

Rowan was a little late, clutching a nondescript bag in his hand. He wasn't sure on his choice, but Whitlea had told him it was a good present and he trusted her on these sorts of matters. He smiled when he saw Terra and walked over to her, planting a kiss on her cheek. "Hey."
Terra smiled warmly at him. "Hey." She replied and kissed him swiftly. "Hungry?" She asked and held his hand with her free one.
Rowan laughed and considered the question. "I know one person who doesn't like it, but I wouldn't really call her sane."
Terra laughed and held his hand, walking towards the Chinese station in the food court. ((is there a separate food court thread?))
((Nope, we can just do it in the mall))
Rowan chuckled and walked with her. "Do you want to order first?" He asked.
Rowan chuckled and walked with her. "Do you want to order first?" He asked.
Terra shrugged. "Sure." She replied and turned to the cashier. "I'll have an order of the shrimp and chicken fried rice with wanton soup and dumplings please." She asked politely and smiled.
The worker person smiled politely and started to get Terra's food together while another worker took Rowan's order and started getting it together as well. Both were finished fairly quickly and set the meals on the counter as Rowan paid for the food.
Terra smiled and leaned against Rowan happily and kissed his cheek as a thank you before taking her food and walking over to a free table in the food court.
Rowan smiled at her, taking his food and following her to the table. He set his bag down and pushed it under his seat so that it wouldn't get tripped on, and it wouldn't be easy to see inside.
Terra hid her bag under the table and smiled, taking her chopsticks and beginning to eat the food happily. "So. How was shopping?"
"Oh, it was easy," Rowan said jokingly, because it totally hadn't been. "First time I've ever shopped for a girl, but I had no problem."
Terra smirked a bit and raised an eyebrow. "Oh really?" She said and smirked a bit. Someone knocked her bag over and she gasped, picking it all up but hissed in pain as she sliced her hand on a screw driver.
"Are you okay?" Rowan asked, hearing her in pain, and also faintly smelling blood. "Did something cut you?"
Terra nodded a bit and frowned, trying to stop the bleeding with a napkin. "Yeah. Just on something in my bag. No big deal." She said and frowned, getting another napkin as the first go soaked in blood.
"Let me see it," Rowan said, reaching into his back pocket. He had a spare bandage with him in case he wanted to re-cover his arm, so he could at least wrap her hand.
Terra frowned a bit. "Are you sure? I don't want it to be too much for you." She said, a bit reluctant. She knew he could likely and easily go into withdrawal but it hadnt been too long since he'd had her blood. Still, she didn't want to push it.
"Relax," Rowan said, pulling out the bandage and holding it up so she could see. "I'm just going to wrap it." He still didn't trust himself to have her blood, and doubted her ever would again. Even though he liked it....it wasn't worth it to him.

A shopping mall filled with stores. It had been barely touched by the effects of that fateful attack.
