Niki | 45 comments It's not for eight months so plenty of planning to do!! It's a dream/once of a lifetime trip to go to Dublin and then going on tour of Scotland and England with fellow maniacs!! I'm going alone but those ladies are fun from the ones I met at feversong launch so I think I'll be alright :)

message 302: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh wow. Sounds amazing.

Did you neet them online?

I have done a couple trips to meet online buddies, and have had AMAZING experiences each time. So I am super jealous of you, especially to Dublin, you're from the US, I think I remember, right?

message 304: by Niki (new)

Niki | 45 comments Yep live in MN!! Yeah and I have just talked to them a little bit in Facebook groups:)

Im trying to think of going on a European adventure with you all, lol.

Melinda Ruyten | 1027 comments Hi Nikki, my daughter has just arrived in New York and I organised for her to stay in a hostel for the night. She said it's shared accommodation 8 girls in a room. She didn't like it very much maybe too privileged. She said if anyone walks in itwakes everyone up. She got in after a 32 hour flight and she's just staying for the week. And you have to be up by a certain time. If you were travelling in pairs it could be fun. I have heard it's very expensive in Dublin so save up. Travelling is fantastic and sometimes you have to throw your into unfamiliar positions and just go with it. I just love holidays.

message 309: by Niki (new)

Niki | 45 comments Exactly Melinda!! I'm just going for it even though I'm a huge introvert!! I went on a five day cruise in January by myself and had a blast so I think I'll be ok. I will have a private room at the hostel since I am such a light sleeper and don't want to share a room ;) I am planning on going on tours with some ladies that are organizing them!!

Bev! That would be so much fun to do a group trip with this group!!

message 310: by Melinda (new)

Melinda Ruyten | 1027 comments Go for it Nikki and Bev, travel is so fantastic you learn so much and experience such a lot. With not having to share a room, I'm sure you'll be fine

OMG! Sooo hilarious!!! I remember looking up The Haunted Vagina several years ago!

My problem is that when he sees the covers of these books, he gets a tad jealous (you know, with all my surgeries and the meds I'm on, poor thing hasn't gotten as much 'personal attention' lately as he used to), so I feel bad about the books showing up! I try to get on his kindle and delete the covers so that they're not thrown in his face! But I don't feel bad enough to stop buying books or getting freebies! lol

Niki--OMG I'm SO jealous! The three places I want to go to outside of the U.S. are Ireland, Scotland and Australia, and then to also be there for a KMM event? Wow! (even though I'm still pissed at her for Feversong and everything it was NOT)

message 312: by Jen (new)

Jen | 162 comments Niki, I started my summer road trip in MN and went to Paisley Park!! Prince had an awesome facility but the outside looked soooooooo commercial. i was hoping for more creativity for the exterior but very cool place

Nay, how are you feeling?

message 315: by Melinda (new)

Melinda Ruyten | 1027 comments We are now in New York and after walking 26 kms today 16 miles today. My legs are hurting we found on our travels a really good coffee shop called Birch. Anyway I thought I would give you the update. But the donuts are delicious at Dunkin Donut. My sister said to try a Banana cream pie. But the calories look enormous. Is it worth it?

You walked 16 miles today... the answer is always yes! You're only on a vacation like this once! Definitely eat the donut!

Happy birthday, Paula!! 🎂🎉🎈

message 318: by Melinda (new)

Melinda Ruyten | 1027 comments But Grey, the Banana cream pie. Is that worth the calories. What else do you suggest. The 9/11 memorial is so moving. It is so well done. Who ever designed that has just captured it perfectly.

message 319: by [deleted user] (new)

At DD or banana pie in general?

If you like banana pudding and pie you will like banana pie. Though I've never had itat DD.

message 326: by Melinda (new)

Melinda Ruyten | 1027 comments I think I killed my family, by 1pm we had done 8. Then we were going on the hop on and off bus and at 6 pm they stopped so we walked all the way back to our hotel near 9/11. My feet are really hurting. But tomorrow. We start again. Another big day.

message 327: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) Sounds like you're having a great trip Melinda. Put your feet up and have a good rest tonight so you can bounce back for more tomorrow :)

message 328: by Melinda (new)

Melinda Ruyten | 1027 comments Thanks Jan, when we come back, I can go back to work to rest. Hahaha

message 329: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) Haha. Yes 'holidays' can be a bit like that sometimes. You try to pack so much more into each day than when you're home.

Nay (4ukcats) Grey wrote: "Nay, how are you feeling?"

Grey--I answered this 2 days ago, but I guess I forgot to hit 'enter'. I'm better now that I'm tapering down slowly on the prednisone (all those crazy withdrawal symptoms are gone). I'm just tired of feeling like crap because of all these meds. I know I have to take them, and I'm SO thankful for my new heart, but feeling like I have the flu 75% of the time, along with these damn tremors is getting old.

BUT I'm not going to dwell on it because I just turned in those chapters and now I have 4 whole EDIT-FREE days!!! And I just saw that Undeserving Undeserving (Undeniable, #5) by Madeline Sheehan was F-I-N-A-L-L-Y released, so I'm going to try to get caught up on everything I've missed here and at Maryse's, and then I'm going to read it!!

Oh, and Happy (late) Birthday, Paula! Sorry I missed it!!

Nay (4ukcats) Lisa!!!!!

I didn't want to hijack Sue's review comments, so I thought I'd post here. Do you want to BR The Unrequited on the day it comes out 7/13?

Lisa and I are doing a BR for this if you want to join. She's already set up the thread!

message 348: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Alright, I've been recommended a lot of books by Goodreads. Some are a question as to why it would be recommended to me, some are just silly. Then this came as a rec from Goodreads. https://www.amazon.com/Crowns-Croswal...

Why do I mention it? (Besides it's something I might ACTUALLY read?) The ad is just so over the top, that if anyone believed it, they are setting themselves up for disappointment.
'Part Cinderella, part Harry Potter, part Percy Jackson'

*blinks* Seriously? All that in one book?

message 349: by [deleted user] (new)

I dont know why they do that. Occasionally comparison can help in a rec if trying to describe feel or writing style, but otherwise leads to disappointment.

message 350: by Jan (last edited Jul 06, 2017 09:42PM) (new)

Jan (jan130) Amazon has a quote saying it is recced for "young teen readers". Hmmmmm. I think not for moi. And the h is called 'Ivy Lovely'. Again, no........
