It's C J Martín but it doesn't have a release date yet. I'll post it as soon as it does.

Does anyone here (or anyone in your family) work in the health insurance field? If so, I'm in desperate need of some guidance.
Hubs' building was sold last month, and the new owners went with a different management company, so he lost his job on 10/31. We finally got our COBRA letter on Saturday, and if we continue with our current health insurance until he finds another job, it'll cost $2,500.00 per month (NO, that is not a typo).
Even if you don't work in the field, if you've been in the same situation and had to get temporary insurance, I'd welcome any advice. There are SO many companies out there, and I don't even know where to start. I don't care if the deductibles are high, but I want hubs to have more extensive coverage and I want my 3 boys to have basic coverage. I'm covered, thank goodness.
Thanks!!!

I just started a book so I am going to resist starting until I have finished it...it is taking will power!

Ooh! *runs to amazon to go CLICK!*
Thanks Paula! I'm not starting straight away either, but I JUST GOTTA HAVE IT!

Nay, that is terrible. So expensive. I think you should move to Australia. The majority of people in Australia don’t even have health insurance. All covered under a Medicare levy from your tax. I do have health insurance. That’s the top of the range and for the whole family. It’s like $1200 for 3 months. I only have it as the other doesn’t cover private hospitals or specialists. So it just a back up. Good luck.
Holy crap, Nay... I have no idea about about Cobra insurance companies and the like, but I am sending all my good thoughts your way, my friend! 😘

I have time, and any appointments we absolutely HAVE to go to can be filed again with the new insurance once I pick one. Or I can just pay out of pocket for this in between time if I choose to.
I just want to make sure hubs doesn't lose coverage for something like his cluster headaches or his back (if these are considered preexisting conditions??) Since I still have my own secondary coverage, which is now my primary, at least *I* don't have to worry about that. And let's face it--right now I'm the big money drain on this family if we don't have insurance.

Sorry to hear you're going through that...I hope everything works out with minimal cost!

lol You know, that's one of the things I LOVE about this book. It's so long that I won't be done by tonight. It's gonna take time, yet it doesn't feel like it's a long book; instead, I'm engrossed and time flies with each word.

The medical insurance system in Australia is pretty darned good, I have to admit. Yeah, we do pay a levy with our taxes, but then you get free or very cheap services, for everyone. I hate to imagine what it's like without that.

Jan - the first chapter sure packed a punch
Nay - sorry to hear what you are going through and I can't offer any help as in the UK it works completely differently as we have the NHS.

Now I have another need for info:
Our Jack Russell got treated for heartworms over the summer and for the past few weeks, she hasn't felt well. Then she started fainting and being extremely lethargic. So we took her to the vet on Monday and they did blood work/xrays and found that the heartworms are gone and everything else looks fine, but she's badly anemic, which is what's causing her symptoms.
They put her on a multi-vitamin w/ iron and steroids, and we were supposed to take her back again this afternoon to see if her red blood cell count has gone up any, but she fainted again this morning, so we're thinking we're going to have to go to the next step, which is a transfusion. I already called an made an appt. with the local vet hospital and we're taking her there this afternoon with the intention of getting one, unless they come up with a different treatment plan, so I'm just wondering if anyone's pet has ever gotten a transfusion?
