There are books like that, I believe. *ahem*

Nup. horse as in horce and sauce as in sorce (without sounding the r's)

Yes I think a lot of our slang is the same as English. Probably more so than US.

LOL Melinda. Aren't they great? (and coarse!)
My brothers used to ask 'who opened their lunch?" when we were kids. Ugh. I think it may come from when kids took a boiled egg in their school lunch box. And when they opened it at lunchtime...... ugh.
bev, totally will have to do it again... probably In September because I will buy too many books in August! 😂

When I was younger remember the saying " let's talk about the first thing that pops up. Totally crass
How are they hanging? Meaning dual meaning think about it.
Who dropped their guts? Someone farted
Jan am I the only crass one? Hahaha

Lol. We are just going to come out even stevens.
I say aces but usually to myself sarcastically when something is not going well.
Family jewels ive heard here. Bun in the oven is used the same. Jacked up ive always used or heard for something or someone that is messed up.
Kick the bucket, iffy, plastered, dodgy must be universal in English.
Oh, and stoked.
Dinky is like...something small not well made.
I wish we said Dinky di and fair dinkum

Since I last posted, we've received many conflicting reports from the doctors, but there has been much more encouraging news.
My mom went through those couple of days where she was hardly responding to us (and my sister and I seriously thought she was going to die in that bed), and then one day, she was just back to her old self. She says she was in the pits of doom, and I believe it. But during that time, she was praying and got things set right in her mind, and in the meantime, we got the encouraging news from her oncologist that they think her cancer is very treatable.
What they actually think now is that her breast cancer that was completely gone for 17 years has come back in these other spots on her body (some of you may have read that the same thing has happened to Olivia Newton John after 25 years of remission). And they did finally come to the conclusion that the 'meningioma' was actually another part of the bone cancer that's between her meninges (the lining of the skull) and her skull. They've been controlling her pain with pain meds, and they finally put her on a steroid that took away her horrible nausea within 24 hours of the first dose.
They did a biopsy on Friday and are still waiting for pathology to confirm, but if it is the breast cancer as her oncologist thinks, that's the most treatable cancer (not curable, but treatable), and the plan is to give her 10 rounds of radiation and put her on tablet therapy instead of i.v. chemo.
They're planning to move her to an inpatient rehab facility either today or tomorrow where she'll stay for 7-10 days and get her radiation therapy and rehab her weak body (although she can now walk to the bathroom with a walker, albeit very slowly).
And the best part is that right before I walked out of her hospital room last night, she closed her eyes and sank back into her pillows and said "I'm so happy."
I'm getting ready to leave for the hospital, but I hope to be back here more often now that things have (hopefully) settled down a bit!

*continues to send hugs and positive vibes your way*
Stay strong my friend...I know it is hard.
(hugs) Oh Nay, I am so happy to hear that you all have received some encouraging news. I am continuing to keep your mom and all of your family in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep yourself healthy and rest as much as you are able... remember, you are still recovering yourself!

Haircut and highlights. Went from shoulder to chin.
Curious. What kind of frienfs are you when a new guy is introduced?
All accepting or suspicious?

Bev, do you mean like someone new a friend is dating??
I am TOTALLY suspicious and over protective. It sucks when you dont approve of a friends choice.
I haven't heard from her either... Nay, if you're around, you're in our thoughts, my friend.
Ela... I have been binging the past few weekends. Currently up to season 6. LOVE GoT!!!
