Macbeth Discussion Question

Out of the four scenes we've read in Act I, select a QUOTE (minimum of 4 lines) you find interesting and analyze the figurative language in that quote by doing the following:
1) Copy the quote.
2) Explain the context of the quote: who said it and what's happening around it.
3) Pick out the elements of figurative language (metaphor, simile, repetition, parallelism, etc.) and explain how they are functioning (comparisons made, images conjured, repetition, sounds, etc.)
4) Analyze HOW this particular use of figurative language adds to the audience's understanding of the play. In other words, what is the effect of the figurative language?
