If you guys want to read a good fantasy series asides from mainstream classics like LOTR, try out the Amber series by Roger Zelazny. It's a magical series. Personally, I like it a lot more than LOTR (which I've read twice). I've read this series 3 times over the past decade. I think a fourth reading is due....

It's 10 books, divided into 2 sub parts, 5 books each.

Well, @Asad LOTR is seriously good and calling it Mainstream is just not right, like comeon if you didn't liked it more, it doesn't means its not upto the hype. I yet have to read a fantasy series which can seriously be compared to LOTR! Poppy, I wasn't saying LOTR isn't good. It's great. The Amber series is also great. It's totally different from LOTR in the kind of fantasy world it presents.
