Pygmalionby George Bernard Shaw George Bernard Shaw
Based on the sociology of Henry Mayhew, the lyricism of Lerner & Lowe’s “My Fair Lady,” and the charity of John Alfred Groom (1845-1919), the author constructs a fictional tale of the London flower-sellers of the late Victorian period ... Despite some lapses into 21st-century slang, and (did the Victorians really call the disease ‘polio?’, the book successfully recreates this epoch ... a most moving read ...
Is this the proper place for this review? I believe the author is Irish, and several of the characters are Irish. However, it is historical fiction, not true history.

Hello Andrea - just a helpful hint about how to add the citations.

Just write what you want to write in the comment box and place all of the citations at the bottom - easier that way. Add the book cover, then the word by and then the author's photo and finally the author's link.

Here is some help for the ones you have posted above:

A Memory of Violets A Novel of London's Flower Sellers by Hazel Gaynor by Hazel Gaynor Hazel Gaynor

Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw by George Bernard Shaw George Bernard Shaw

London Labour and the London Poor by Henry Mayhew by Henry Mayhew Henry Mayhew

Congrats on your wonderful progress in the challenge.
