What are the reason you buy/like a specific book?

Personally I tend to look at the books cover and if it's appealing I then read the blurb. If the blurb doesn't appeal to me or sound intresting I won't read it.

Usually if it a genre I like and if the summary on the back is appealing

I do it too, but I tend to take a look in goodreads also, so I can see the rating of my friends
