Yearly Theme Suggestion Thread

what about doing a different genre each month of the year? I know that we have a Diversity theme it might be a different element to add to that theme.

What about our favorite books? There are so many members from different places - it would be cool for each of us to nominate our favorite book and compile the list!

I hope it isn't too late for input! I really like the sections of a bookstore theme, I think that would be really fun! I also came up with a 20th Century Theme, I split the last four into smaller sections to fit the 12 months, please tell me what you think.

Megan, this group already has a couple Listopia's devoted to our favorite books, and we do yearly challenges based on those lists, so while I, and many of our group members, love your idea (because over a hundred members participate in the challenges), it won't quite work with our yearly theme. We will keep them in our challenge section for now.

Both Around the World and Fairy Tales were suggested... what about Fairy Tales from Around the World. Personally I know very few, if any fairy tales from other cultures that aren't the popular ones we all know.

Has the yearly theme been chosen for 2017? I see a moderator mentioned "13 more days" on the 17th so it would seem the deadline has passed??? However since this thread is still open, I'll just throw out that I love the idea of a different section of the bookstore each month as well as the idea of matching covers to crayola crayons. As an additional idea, I'd like to suggest a slant on the books around the world idea by changing it to Courage in Every Culture. I think it would be neat to read stories of courageous people (real or imagined) living in a variety of cultures (real or imagined).

I'm a little confused by what you mean by all this. Are these all suggestions for themes? or are these all under the Coming of Age/Life Lesson theme you posted about?
