I checked with Lila and she said I should go ahead and post this.

The Association for the Study of Women and Mythology (ASWM) has issued a call for papers for its Symposium. I am a member of the association, but I am not involved in organizing the symposium so I know nothing about it other than what is on the website.

I have not attended their symposiums, but I have attended the annual conference that was held in Boston this year. The primary focus is on goddess mythology, but there were a lot of presentations about women in myth and folktales. I really loved the conference. I'll probably wait to see the symposium program before I decide whether to attend it.

Meanwhile, in case any of you are interested in submitting a paper for the symposium, I am attaching the link to their website.

Click on 2017 Symposium and scroll down to the Call for Papers. You can also click on the 2016 annual conference in Boston to see the topics that were presented. If any of you have papers on women in myth and/or fairy tales that address their themes, I encourage you to submit.

BTW: ASWM was co-founded by Patricia Monaghan. Some of you may be familiar with her incredible body of work.

all best.
