Books are very huggable. They smell good too.

They do indeed! Certainly far better than a Kindle.:)

PSXtreme I have an evil book...I woke up this morning and it had covered my mouth in an attempt to smother and kill me. It gets no hugs anymore.

Squire (srboone) | 1043 comments Well, maybe hugging electronic devices is a little weird. Those don't have personality. But physical books have LOADS of personality. And they smell nice too!

Oops! Almost let my inner Roland D. LeBay out!

Char | 17459 comments I am the biggest book smeller ever. Especially of graphic novels.
My husband laughs at me, but I do not care. :)

I once stopped reading a book because it smelled wrong. It was a graphic novel, so it was probably the ink.

It isn't abnormal. People often develop emotional attachments to inanimate objects. I've had similar feelings about cars.

As for the aroma of books, that is hard wired into us. Smell is among the oldest senses. It is wired deep ito our brains, and can bring out emotions and memories from us when nothing else can.

Sometimes I'll be reading an old book and the musty smell will be pretty strong, especially with paperbacks.
