Harry pretty much proved that Edgewood, Julia's partner, killed an unarmed Johnny Stokes. Why did he let it go?

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments I think he let it go because he knew that they didn't have enough evidence to press charges against Stokes and he believed he was guilty.

I'm just wondering why both Edgewood and Brashar were both ready to kill Stokes. It's almost like they knew something else about him and were going to make sure he couldn't talk.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments I thought Edgewood might have aimed at Stokes in the parking garage and that the bullet(s) ricocheted from the walls to hit Brashar.

I felt that Edgewood was a cliff hanger at the end of this story. I was disappointed that Harry didn't initiate something against his shooting of Stokes in the closet. Maybe I missed something, but he seemed trigger happy to me.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments Edgewood killed Stokes because he blamed him for Julia's death even though Stokes was not to blame for it.

I agree that Harry may feel that justice had been done with Stoke's death and Edgewood will have to live with what he's done too.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments Lauren, I didn't get any sense that Edgewood had loyalty to Julia at all, so I didn't see him blaming Stokes for her death. Hmmm....

I didn't feel Edgewood's bond to Julia, either. I have a serious conspiracy theory going on here:)

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments My sense of it was that as her training officer, Edgewood felt a responsibility toward Julia and was trying to teach her. As such, he was really angry when she died (and that's why he kicked Stokes on the ground right after).

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments Interesting point, but for me Edgewood was not portrayed in enough detail to get his motives. I could have been reading too fast for this nuance, even though I remember the scene.
