Hey, Trisha, I requested this book from Link+ but all books are checked out. One is due back the 14th, but even if they check it in on time I'll never get it by the 16th. Can we move this one to a later date?

10 Chapters and I really like this one so far

Faith (view spoiler)[must have been horrified to witness her sister's kidnapping and at such a young, impressionable age! I don't blame her for being a little reluctant to meet her sister. Living in her shadow is something I can only imagine, but I'm sure it would be VERY difficult to be in that situation. (hide spoiler)]

Laurel (view spoiler)[to me seems like she's really held it together. I'm a bit suspicious, but I don't know of what yet. LOL I am glad that she's returned after all these years and just hoping it's all legit. (hide spoiler)]

Michel (view spoiler)[is a gem. I love his character. He seems like the perfect male partner for one's dad. (hide spoiler)]

Dad (view spoiler)[seems to deal in reality but with a little help. I liked his speech because as much as I'd want to kill the man who took my little girl, I'd also be very thankful; however, I'm VERY concerned why he did that. I can't believe he suddenly had a guilty conscious, so I worry that he's somehow setting up her family or using Laurel. I'm nervous about the whole thing. (hide spoiler)]

Laurel (view spoiler)[seems off to me. I don't know, it just seems like she's TOO freaked out over giving her DNA and that would prove who she is. She also is TOO well-adjusted and open to the media. I'm still suspicious but can't put my finger on it or what her motives might be, if anything. (hide spoiler)]

Faith (view spoiler)[is trying so hard to be that sister she thinks Laurel needs. I'm not sure what her reason is for being so upset with Martha for talking to Tom but she so easily left him with Laurel. (hide spoiler)]

Tom (view spoiler)[is on my list of "suspects" too. LOL I think I'm thinking of a recent kidnapping when the person who came back wasn't really that person, and the family member (a sibling) KNEW it. I wondered why Tom liked Faith so much right off the bat and yet had so many girls flocking all over him. Do you think it's possible that he's a set up and maybe he DID know who Laurel was to begin with? I'm probably grasping at straws but I just don't think things add up. (hide spoiler)]

Laurel (view spoiler)[ is more and more of a mystery to me. I can't figure out what's going on with her...the stealing...watching Faith and Tom have sex...wanting to do the book so soon after being released. I haven't believed her from the beginning and I really don't think she is Laurel, but I can't figure out why she'd pretend to be. When she spent time with her old best little neighbor friend, they acted like they'd never known each other. I wonder if Smith kidnapped her too and she's out getting info for him or something. I don't know but she can't be Laurel. (hide spoiler)]

Faith (view spoiler)[ is still feeling like she's the underdog. I feel for her because I'm sure it's totally understandable how her parents would fawn all over Laurel, but at the same time it's unfair to Faith to be made to feel like 2nd best. (hide spoiler)]

Dad (view spoiler)[I think he was right not to want to do the book, especially so soon. I guess there's no real wrong or right but it just doesn't seem right at this time. I kind of feel like their mom is in it for just the money and not only for Laurel's future or she wouldn't be going on such an extravagant shopping spree. (hide spoiler)]

You can see how long it's taken me to get this far in just one book this week. I've been SO BUSY!! Tomorrow is my granddaughter Abigail's 13th birthday so we're having a party, of course. And this Friday is the Celebration of Life for my mother-in-law. It never ends, does it? (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

Laurel(view spoiler)[ don't trust her as far as I can throw her. My guess - she knew Laurel and was possibly held with her. she slipped up over the night light "exactly like she described" was what she almost said. Who is this girl? (hide spoiler)]

Thomas(view spoiler)[ I agree, something is off here. Except I think Laurel might actually throw herself at him and I think it might work

I'm not sure if he's a plant - if he was there and previously knew Laurel as who she really is. I don't know but I agree - something feels weird here too (hide spoiler)]

Martha(view spoiler)[ I wonder if maybe Faith has changed since her sister got home. I wonder if she didn't realize how grumpy and negative she was until suddenly her world was turned upside down. I think Martha's grumpy and negative views - her blunt rudeness and some of her crappy comments - I bet they were commonplace (and Faith agreed with her even!) not too long ago. It must be hard for Martha - but still, she isn't really being a great friend right now. And why hadn't Martha EVER stayed the night at her house before?? That's odd, I think (hide spoiler)]

I got home late last night and have been gone all day...going out to dinner soon too so here's my final comments.

Laurel (view spoiler)[is dead and I'm SO sad!!! I don't know if it's really worse since she just died 4 months previously but it makes it seem a little sadder. I'm heartbroken that for her and what she went through. (hide spoiler)]

Faith (view spoiler)[has known something was off a long time! You and I saw the clues that Laurel wasn't Laurel and I think Faith knew very early on and that's why she got so upset with her all the time. She knew! (hide spoiler)]

Laurel is (view spoiler)[not really Laurel but Sadie. HOW can anyone do what she did to Laurel's family. I understand that Sadie went through hell too, but still. I know she was only 8 when she was kidnapped but there must have been a better way that being deceitful like that. (hide spoiler)]

The ending (view spoiler)[wasn't what I wanted to see. I don't like that Faith is going to try to keep it secret her whole life! And if Michel knows, I'm assuming that somehow along the way she's bound to fess up even if it does hurt her parents. They have a right to know, and how can they not wonder? They must know in their heart since Sadie wouldn't take a DNA test AND left right before the police were making it happen. I'd want that positive proof if I were Laurel's mother. (hide spoiler)]

I'm sad - because Sadie lying and coming back to her family means her mom is still waiting for her to come home
if only she'd gone home to her mom and been her mom's happiness - then she could have told Faith's family what really happened to their daughter (hide spoiler)]
