Chapter 5!Early on I believed the jumping around was going to get to me, and I would have wanted more of a "Story A Chapter 1" "Story B Chapter 2" format, but with the end to this chapter, it makes more sense for everything to unravel together.
Kyle and his Lost crew, coming upon Traveller and Ereko's ship near the fishing village! Well, this can end one of two ways. 1 - bloody. 2 - the new adventures of Traveller and his Lost friends!
The "Old Guard/New Guard" conflict has led to Toc the Elder and the Li Heng defenders sizing eachother up!
So many more stories and information, but have to get back to work. I cannot stop thinking about this book!
Chapter 5. Story story story (except for that Otatoral stuff, I still don't care!)Mallick is positioning himself for control and is using Korbolo to achieve it. Setting up all the confusion and keeping an army in Unta seems smart, but also seems like he is setting himself up for a lot of pain.
The Wickans which have been taken in by the Malazans in a border fort out on the plains is in stark contrast to when they were not taken in at Aren. And the Malazans here are willing to die to protect them, and the elder Wiccans will not be outdone! What an amazing little story at a border fort that really has me interested.
Who is this Ragman and who did he just kill? Why does he know her "father's" style? When I first read it, I thought she was Sorry/Apsalar over from BotF, and her "father" was Dancer/Rope, but the girl ended up dead so that doesn't work.
Over at Li Heng, Silk is more than any normal cadre Mage, and seems to be really long lived, especially if Liss' story is to be believed. I want to hear more of Toc's story, see his point of view in these proceedings.
Coot, Badlands and Stalker - who are they really? Kyle can't seem to place them, and they seem to have reserves of energy. Are they of the family of swamp loving north Genebakins that we know from BotF? And Kyle's "protection" also convinced some old ladies to give them a trip through a primal Warren. Can that Wind God just come out and say hi now, please?!?
The CG ships in Maels realm? What will happen next?

So my thoughts here are that it is a high level Tiste Andii, I was originally thinking it could be Urusander, but the clue in the pool of blackness leads me to think that it is a Andii. I need to think about that a bit more before jumping to conclusions on who it is.
