Elizabeth (Alaska) The manual says A literary award should be presented periodically ...

I usually think of awards being presented annually, but that's not really what the manual says. I see some awards being given quarterly. I've now stumbled across an award that is being given every 2 months. There may be others as well.

So, is there a restriction on frequency?

As a second question, where do we draw the line on a recognized literary source such as ... major review site. Some awards are being given by organizations that appear to have no reason for existing other than to give awards. If the website doesn't have a section for reviews, can we assume it doesn't qualify as a Major Review Site and their awards do not qualify for inclusion at GR?

Both are certainly judgment calls.

Thanks, Rivka. I've been using my "judgment" but some days it feels good to have a 2nd opinion. I'll post specifics in the "Is this an award" thread if I feel a loss of confidence.

I am a big fan of asking the collective for second opinions.
