D. James Larsen (djameslarsen) Can we help each other? I’m a newly published fantasy scifi indie author. I have published my first short story in a trilogy ARTIFACT OF CREATION on Amazon at 99c. I also have the first 10 pages free on Smashwords. I’m busy working on the second book as well as a full length novel. I’m sure that all of us authors here on this group can help each other out. Some suggestions are to ‘like’ well written Amazon reviews, download the free Smashwords book, mark my book as to-read on Goodreads, add it to a GR list and so on. If you’d like to do so, please feel free to add your links below in a comment and let me know what you have done to support me and I’ll be happy to do the same for you!

Thanks Sharmishtha. Do you have Twitter and a FB page? Also, share the link to your fantasy book on Amazon and Goodreads.

Sarah Blair (sarahlblair) | 1 comments I'm definitely interested in helping each other out! October is going to be a very hectic month for me so I'm not able to say for sure whether I'll get to read your book and post a review, but can definitely take time to click through and like reviews, retweet, etc.

Great Sarah. I've marked your book as to-read on GR and marked some of your Amazon reviews as helpful. I can't find you on Twitter or Facebook, but as soon as you follow me, I'll pick that up and do the same for you.

Norman Turrell | 6 comments I'm afraid Daniel has just apologised to me that he hasn't been able to honour his verbal commitment to me over mutual author support and is backing out. Although I'm disappointed over this let down, I wish him the best for the future.

J.P. Cawood | 5 comments Hey D. James, I'd love to support too! What's most helpful to you at this stage?

I've just launched my first romance, Love from Mars, on Kindle Scout. In order to be published on Kindle Scout, I need nominations. Everyone who nominates gets a free e-copy. Click through to nominate, read the full synopsis, see the cover art, etc.

Chris Wright (author_chris_g_wright) Hi all,

I'm new to the world of self-publishing and last week I released my first ever book (1 of 6) The Alliance

It's basically a sci-fi adventure while Earth is going through a post-apocalyptic crisis, so very much a dystopian setting. It is mixed with a tiny bit of space opera and some mystery. It's a bit dark and raw at some scenes, but it takes the Human flaws and pits them against an adversary from the other side of the galaxy.

Some other races come into the equation and there are plenty of schemes going on in the background to keep the ball rolling. Two Humans have something special about them, which the alien allies intend to use as a weapon to save everyone from a very dangerous adversary.

The aliens, spaceships and lasers etc are all bells and whistles. I use the vantage points of various characters in reflection to the events of a vendetta between two alien civilisations that reaches Earth. It is about choices, putting your Human/alien flaws aside and looking at the bigger picture. It is about sacrifice, friendship, alliances and survival.

Book 1 is just laying the groundwork for the rest of the series. I would welcome the honest reviews, as they will help me grow as a writer. And if there is something that I can do for you (I am a search engine marketing executive, so I can provide useful tips on all things marketing-related), please let me know.

My book can be found below:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N3MBHGU

I hope it's something you'll like.

Chris

Chris Wright (author_chris_g_wright) I'm all up for that. When is your first book coming out, Michael?

I already have some teen/YA books out, but my first fantasy book should be out by the end of November, thanks for asking!

ah thanks, Michael. I'm trying my best to spread the word, but with a full-time job, it's quite a challenge. Not complaining! It's also very fun. It's an exciting time for me as I never thought this moment would come. Feels like a long journey from the moment you type the title on the page until the moment you're hitting SUBMIT.

Is there any way I can help you out?

I know what you mean! Thanks for the offer. I'll let you know when my book comes out and perhaps we can come up with some more mutual support ideas!

Chris Wright (author_chris_g_wright) I do Search Engine Marketing as my daytime job: I optimise websites and know the ins and outs of pay-per-click marketing. Most PPC is similar, regardless of format. I might offer some extra tips. Good luck with the writing.

C.E. Gee | 1 comments Greetings:

Back in the late 1990’s I followed the internet newsgroup “rec.arts.sf.composition.”

Patricia Wrede, the famous Fantasy author dropped in from time to time, gave us novice writers the benefit of her experience.

I vowed then that if I ever became published I’d follow her example.

So, here goes.

Most anyone can write a story.

The trick is in the rewriting.

In this era of computer text editors we no longer need formal rewrites. We should use what is called “Rolling Rewrites.”

In the old daze, rewriting on typewriters meant changes in paper, so rewriting was a bit of a hassle.

In today’s world, every time we work on something we should do what Hemingway did. In his book “By-line” by Ernest Hemingway” he advises writers begin their writing session by going back maybe three chapters or so of their current work, reread what they’ve previously written, making necessary changes.

Old Ernest was a bit of a workaholic. He didn’t mind changing paper to accomplish his goals.

Needless to say, we’ve got things much easier.

NAMASTE

C.E. Gee AKA Chuck
