I love reading at all and can't say what prefer to read, because classical books took my hearts all years ago, but I also can't imagine my life without dystopia and YA. I like books that can broke heart and give hope at the same time.
Can't imagine my life without art - any sort of art and my native city. I believe that it's one of the most gorgeous places all over the world. I read in two languages and enjoy it a lot.
I've never had such experience like this group before, and I hope it'll be great adventure for me. Thank you for a chance to try!
And I have my own bookstagram: @bibliovien, so..welcome :)
Hello everyone, I'm late to the party, but better late than never right.
My name is Shantall Elizabeth, I'm 28, Mexican born, American raised. I love books, I volunteered at a library for 10 years as a pre teen into my teen years before studies took me it.
I read all kinds of books no matter the genre and look forward to reading some more diverse books.

I'm Roy, author of the novels Patches of Grey and the recently released Matters of Convenience. Patches fits into the New Adult genre whereas Matters focuses on grown folk primarily. Both are relationship based stories, romantic and otherwise. An interracial love story is front and center in Patches of Grey, whereas Matters of Convenience features mostly African American lead characters and examines issues faced by women who do what it takes to balance career, lovers, and the timing of when or if to start a family. I'm hoping to get more reads and reviews of both books, particularly Matters which has just entered the marketplace. Kindle owners can download it for free from 2/1/17 to 2/5/17. Happy reading!

My name is Puck, I'm 23 years old and live in the Netherlands. I'm a fan of all kinds of books, but I prefer sci-fi/fantasy and historical fiction. I'm currently participating in the DiverseAThon (and enjoying it very much!) so when I found this group, I knew this was the perfect group to join :D
I'm looking forward to our future diverse reads and book discussions!

I am deaf and proud of it. I can't wait to read two books that have a deaf main character coming out in March!!

I just finished Talk Under Water and I was going to recommend it, but I see you've already read it. I loved Summer & Will!

My name is Anna, I'm almost 45 years old and I live in Fullerton, California. I'm a teen services librarian and am also trying to diversify my reading personally, so I am very grateful to the moderators for having started this group - brilliant idea and thank you all!
There may be a better spot to post these questions, but I'll start here. I wondered if the Twitter chats will generally be held on the fourth (or last?) Monday of the month at 7pm EST? And do you host live chats on other social media? I also wondered if you would mind if I promoted the group on a couple national and California librarian listservs?
So glad to be here! Thank you again!
