Chapters 1-3 (view spoiler)[ Alright, so far we have classes such as Gold and Bronze and the Bronze seem to be slaves while Gold are more like royalty? Anyway, I find it odd that if there is such a difference then how did Maia's mother ever end up with a Bronze to begin with anyway. I don't mind jumping right into the action of Maia being hunted down but still trying to figure out the world too.

Oh, and a side note....how in the world did I end up reading two books at the same time with the MC being named Maia? I'm going to doubly confuse myself between this and Fate of Flames. LOL (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 5 (view spoiler)[ Between the burned man, mentioning popping eyeballs out with spoons and now searching Maia's body organ by organ until what her father hid is found this book certainly has a gag factor to it.

But what in the world would be "hid" inside of someone's body? How would you get it back without someone dying? Ugh. (hide spoiler)]

I think you may have gotten farther than I have so far but I know what you mean. I put it back down after maybe chapter 6....

But people are trying to avoid going to "sleep"?? Er, if the planet is going to be hit or whatever is coming not sure why you'd avoid it. But yes, all a tad confusing mash up of things that remind me of different stories here and there. (hide spoiler)]

It's not getting better. Rather boring since every time anything goes on I keep comparing it to other books. At 25% I thought I was reading Hunger Games then I thought no, at least I liked that story.

Yeah, I seriously doubt I'll pick it back up again

Oh I'll finish it for the points but it's not looking good for the rating. It's like a giant mix of everything YA instead of any life of it's own.

Listening while doing other things online, doesn't really worry me too much because I'm still productive and getting something done even if bored with my current book. LOL

Chapter 7: (view spoiler)[ This book reminds me of Red Rising how they're taking a Bronze and turning them into a Gold like how they took a Red and turned them into a Gold in Red Rising. I'm finding the world extremely confusing. The world building isn't told in a way that makes it easier to understand, but rather throws you in the deep end and then hopes you understand eventually. This book will probably take me almost all month since I'm reading other books at the same time, and this isn't holding my interest well.

Chapter 14: (view spoiler)[ I wish the story would just move on already, and everything would stop being so cryptic. I also don't think the world building is that great, and not much time was spent pausing and explaining the universe. I didn't want or expect an info dump, but I was hoping for some explanation of something. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 23: (view spoiler)[ This is so boring and I feel like I still don't fully understand how everything works. I don't think it was ever fully explained how the uploading works, and I think it's that you get put in a "casket" and your consciousness is put in someone on Hyperion so you can live life through their eyes as a spectator. However from my memory that was never explained, and I felt like I was being forced to assume. I'm waiting for Maia/Everly to somehow reveal herself to Caspian. Hopefully no love triangle.
