Bonjour tout le monde,
Alors, here is the new topic for our proposed group read. I've provisionally called it "Autumn 2016" - I know most group members will be coming into autumn in the northern hemisphere. Here in Sydney the beautiful spring weather is rolling in - a truly wonderful time of year. In a few weeks the jacarandas will flood the city with their lovely purple blooms - ah, bliss!
Anyway, back on subject, let's hear some suggestions for a group read.
Santé, Andrew

What a great idea Andrew. I'll give this some thought and post a book on the thread.

Nancy (faundance5) | 93 comments Although I do read fiction, I most often read non-fiction or historical fiction. Most of my suggestions would be in the last two catagories. Wondered if you prefer fiction or non fiction recommendations for this group? Or do you care?

Personally, I don't mind either way, as long as it's in the Francophile vein. I do read plenty of French fiction (in English as my French is not up to it), but I also like books about French history and memoirs of people living in France.
If this suits everyone else, then I suggest we just pool all our suggestions and then we can discuss from there.

Barbara Mahoney | 11 comments I suggest "A Year in Provence" by Peter Mayle.

Lynaia | 22 comments Maybe we should have separate polls for a fiction and for a nonfiction read so people can read whichever they like and we can get 2 discussions per month. Another group I'm in does it this way and it works well.

Eileen | 8 comments Sorry I'm a little late to this discussion thread but I'd be interested in future groups reads. :)

Bonjour tout le monde,
As per my other message, sincere apologies for my absence. Given my Goodreads account issues, I hope this makes it through to you.
So, any further updates on a group read?
Santé,
Andrew

Eileen | 8 comments I like Lynaia's idea of 1 fiction and 1 non-fiction option. I'm open to many of the books that come up under "Most Read This Week" under the "France" genre.

Reggia | 10 comments Did I miss the group read? May I suggest a summer group read?
