I'm in favor of keeping it going. We do seem to manage a decent discussion even if there are only a few of us participating.

Okay, so far we have three to stay open and mine is four. Any more?
I know we get busy and we post around to other sites. I do. But if we can just pop in, wave, bring a plate of scones or something then we see interest and some movement.
Hope that makes sense.
Thanks, Pghfan, Nicole, Allison for replying. I appreciate it! :-)

I've since updated Group settings to include a request that prospective members introduce themselves to moderator and members and let us know why they want to join The PI's. There's a reason I found it necessary to implement this simple gesture. You are sleuths supreme and can probably figure out why. Though I'm no fuddy (least I don't think so), I love the motto: Good manners are always in vogue.

However, I do think that perhaps having two and three simultaneous reads/discussions might be spreading the PIs a bit too thin particularly now with the holidays approaching. I noticed that the last few discussions were not that well attended and was thinking perhaps we should stick to our old way of just one read at a time or at least try and stagger if there is more than one.
I'm behind on it as well, J. And thanks for adding your vote. So, I felt that having more than one read would give more opportunity for discussion. Ie ; if one didn't favor main title, they'd find something in the others.
Also, I find IMHO, some of the new cozies are much deets and no substance. They are no Christie or Rinehart who just because their tomes are cozy, they're without substance. True, there are a few that stand out but many...well, I'll leave it there.

Thanks, J. I know what you mean. I've purchased and borrowed books I really didn't favor just to keep things going and be supportive. Only recently have I opted out of a few titles I just didn't want to read.
Opinion only...if we don't care for main pick then there's no pick to join on. I found myself going along with majority vote just to be a team player but because of limited budget, eye strain, I can't do that any longer. I have to engage in tomes I really find interesting.

Five "keep opens" so we will. Thanks, PI's. Now maybe we should vote on number of monthly selections. I know we did this earlier and it seemed that multi titles was popular. No need to answer this one now as I'll see about a poll question over weekend.
Thanks for the tip o' the caps, PI's Allison and Nicole but you and the PI's are what makes it cozy and special. ;-)
Speaking of...is Jill okay? Anyone hear from her lately? Then again I didn't get to the other posts so maybe she's in one of those.

I know it is hard to please everyone with just one read per month, but two seems to be spreading us thin, as J has noted. Regardless of the book, I will continue to chime in!
Thanks for chiming in, Pghfan. We'll figure this into the conversation and maybe that poll would serve us well. As for me, I'll be good either way. Just whatever = more participation so that we have a board with fair amount of activity. Appreciate it.

And there's a tropical disturbance brewing off Africa's coast which turn into a hurricane. Ugh. Late season hurricanes can be the worst. Hope it doesn't turn into anything.

Jill, being in SFL, you can see why I'm on alert. Still, sometimes those suckers hit hard way up north so none of it is nice, Mother Nature. However, always up for homemade broc/ched soup!

Seems warmer than usual, Jill. So looking forward to those cooler autumn temps. Meantime, Matthew is playing with us. Goes down then up. Leans east then west. Arrgh!
