And my important question : How well do you enjoy a good movie ?
I mean do you hoot, howl , cheer or sit straight and relax your facial muscles once in a while :P
It depends Harry.. there are times when I shout and cheer and also laugh out really loud.. but this was way in the past :P :PI still remember an incident, when a group of us, nearly 25 in number went to watch a re run of Namak Halal in the theater and we were so loud, singing and shouting.. that all the patrons initially got angry but then joined us.. It was a hoot :D :D
As far as I am concerned , Single screens were most fun . I still prefer single screens to multiplexes , unless the movie is 3D.

But of course, I see no reason to laugh or to crack stupid comments in the middle of a horror movie like 'Oculus'. I'm not saying people shouldn't laugh/react during movies, but a little sensitivity wouldn't do any harm.
Some people are just obnoxious - talking loudly on their phones, receiving Whatsapp texts without muting their phone and generally being pests. :|
I don't like that either.. I hate it when the phone rings in the middle of a movie. but I enjoy a loud laugh or cheering once in a while if the movie is good and deserves it... I just cant help being boisterous at that time :P :P Of course with age I have matured * a little bit* :P :P
In the movie theater, I detest all distracting noiseBut at home and watching movies with friends, hell yeah! We crack endless jokes that even a horror movie is funny :D

But, I hate people being morons - talking loudly, kicking your chair, or oh the horror - smelly feet x-(
I hate smelly feet and guys breathing down your neck.. Its UGH!!!I once had that experience.. could not get tickets to the balcony seats and had to opt for the stall ones.. and worse we were all girls and wanted to see a movie.. any movie at that time... GOsh that was a nightmare and we left the movie half way because of all the horrible people breathing down our necks as if they have never seen a girl before in their lives.. That's the part I hate most!!! Felt like boxing and kicking the life out of those idiots..
I can imagine, Sri. There are some totally disgusting folks out there. In Gurgaon, some multiplexes have this deal - tickets at 100/- on Wednesdays (instead of 250/- on other days). And I made the mistake of going for a movie on Wednesday ONCE.
Many of the people who turned up were disgusting - rude, incessantly blabbering, and misbehaving. Some of the clearly drunk ones were asked to leave.
Not very close Fong ... but those guys who came for that movie.. were simply UGH!!! They used to lean in the front and act as if something had fallen down.. kick the seat. HORRIBLE I tell you.. and then you had the ones sitting next to you, where I had the dubious distinction of having the outer seat in our group and this guy sitting next to me was like leaning onto me and I had to practically shove that idiot .. It was a nightmare.. I made a ruckus but the general attitude was like -- you should have known better than to get these seats... We left half way and I swore never to get such seats again!!!
At least the multiplexes are better today.. this experience was in a single screen, where the management turns a blind eye to everything that happens.. And god were those guys drunk.. We couldn't even tell anyone as people would have yelled at us for taking such a bad decision...
Fong, unfortunately we have ridiculous attitudes towards women's safety in India. Typically, the attitudes are:1. Harassment? I just made an 'innocent' comment. Why are you creating a ruckus?
2. Oh, you were harassed? Well, you shouldn't have been wearing what you're wearing.
3. So what if he said a few things? He didn't 'do' anything, did he?
It is only recently that laws are coming into effect to take cognizance of offences. But mindsets are much harder to change. :(
I totally agree with you Sumit.. that is the worst thing in life.. where the woman is blamed for every and any action taken by a man!!!
Well, I was actually talking about the viewing experience . Regarding most other factors like safety, cleanliness and polite behavior multiplexes are preferable. And maybe age plays a factor too. I may prefer to watch a movie when I get married and have kids. And regarding the safety of Females in India , the less we talk about it the better it would be.
Just one example : My mom called and told me to take my sister to relatives house. When I told her she can go alone , my mother asked me what if something happens ? She is prepared to send my sister to US but she is afraid to send her to other colony .
Good morning Sumit, Ini and Harry :) :)@Ini -- at that point I was not reading, just idly chatting.. Sorry did not see this message then..
Added to it.. Shrija's trip to the mall is still pending along with the eating out.. So i don't think I'll get time to read today, especially if I want to live.. :P
