@Ishita - I simply hate Heathcliff and nothing on this earth will ever make me believe that their love story was a good one.. Sorry to disappoint you but that is exactly what I dislike about the Bronte sisters.. the characters are simply not to my liking unfortunately...

I was fortunate to have a good library and reading program in school that's why I was introduced to classics really early in life.. Also my mom forbade me from reading any fiction till i finished 10th... :P :P
@Ishita I am not the one who is being Sour. :P

and the understanding was pertaining to why its a relief to take exams as a holiday when u r working :D
Sri- I'm not saying their love story was great. It wasn't even a proper love story. I'm talking about Heathcliff's character. I think he's kinda misunderstood and people often judge him by his exteriors and relate that to his darkness. He was dark and twisted, no doubt but he was miserable all the same.
It's not the love story or the writing I write, it's the characters.
I think maybe u didn't like it because u read it in school and weren't as mature as u are now.
But anyway, maybe we just think differently of the book and looked at it with different perceptions :)

Yes. The style kept me glued to the book till the very end :)
Sou- when was I sour ? And what was I sour about ?She said she wasn't talking about me I said okay ! What was sour about it ? :P

Hmmm.. maybe so.. but still I can't get over the fact that the characters in these books are too extreme in my opinion.. they are too dark for one and always have some excuses ready for their behaviour.. which is stupid in my opinion. Bronte sisters believe that the past holds the key for a man's choices and while that may be true to a certain extent I still believe that an individual makes his or her choices, irrespective of the past.. Anyway.. that's a debate for another day and another thread not here :)

Part4 is gruesome...
Sri- I think a person's past effects his perception which effects his choices. Not entirely but they do play a role.Anyway, u're right. Let's discuss this sometime later :)
@Anoop - I don't mind gruesome.. as long as its good gruesome :P :P@Ishita- maybe later some time this year, when I get the time will pick it up and read it again and maybe we can discuss this on a separate buddy read thread :)
Ishita wrote: "Sri- sure, I'd love that :DI've been waiting to do a buddy read with u, anyway !"
Cool then.. lets see either this one or some other book :) :)
