when you walk around the house, with headphones on, there are plenty of chances the cords get stuck somewhere, most of the times by your own hands. so the sudden jerk caused by such an event could make headphones stop working properly. :P

Smitha, Sri... The first headphone which sacrificed his life, I don't know what happened. I was using it and suddenly it stopped working. Some jerk probably. I was in bed with a heavy blanket so I sorta got tangled between the cords :P Then my father gave me his old one. Now this is the interesting case, it was in my drawer. I pushed the drawer in with my foot as I had some cloths in my hands and there was this sound of cracking and the headphone was in two pieces *innocent face*
