Rebecca | 4 comments I'm looking for books where the hero and heroine hate each other in the beginning. Like the night huntress series. Any suggestions?

Samantha | 5 comments First thing to come to mind is The Hollows series by Kim Harrison, more UF than PNR and you're not sure if they'll end up together or even which they, but quite a bit of "just because I hate him doesn't mean I can't drool when he takes his shirt off". Haven't read Night Huntress yet so I can't compare.

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments LOL Samantha, that's a great way to describe those two. I know of a couple, but they're non-paranormal/fantasy. I'll try to think of others, similar to NH, that are within our genre.

Josie | 1967 comments I really cannot remember but does Helen Harper's series 'Blood Destiny' slightly start with the heroine not liking him?

Sandra | 25908 comments More along the lines that she doesn't want to be discovered so she avoids Corrigan. She distrusts him cause she's been taught that she'll be killed & possibly some of the pack as well if they find out that she's 'human'.

I suppose you could classify that as enemys to lovers, however, at no time does Corrigan think of her as an enemy.

Josie | 1967 comments Thanks Sandra, it's made me want to reread it!

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 2179 comments Possibly Kate Daniels series? Not that I think she ever actually hated Curan.

Poison Study (fantasy genre, not urban fantasy) springs to mind. High Couch of Silistra, and Anita Blake Vampire Slayer (later books suck), Cassandra Palmer, Dorina Basarab?

Sandra | 25908 comments LOL Josie. Me too :)

And yes Debbie I agree with Poison Study, though its never made clear that Valek hates her, but he does feed her the poison.

Well, she sure hates and fears Valek at the beginning.

Sandra | 25908 comments Yep, that's why I agreed with you :D

Lauren (laurenjberman) The October Daye series

message 12: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Erica Stevens' series, beginning with Captured - the hero is the enemy and so the heroine definitely doesn't like him at first.

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Here are some GR lists focusing on "enemies to lovers", not all/any necessarily PNR/UF-related though:

~ Best enemies to lovers "I love it when the main characters hate each other at first and then slowly become lovers. Nothing annoys me more than Insta-love. Slow burns are the best!"
~ Enemies to Lovers: Adult Romance "They were enemies and then they fall in love. No YA as that list already exists."
~ Childhood Enemies Turn to Adult Lovers
~ The Enemies to Lovers Trope "Everyone's favourite trope, preferably from the YA, fantasy or science fiction genres"

Hannah | 3 comments The fever series is a perfect example.

HonigStern | 1 comments I just finished Slumber by Samantha Young.
I liked it a lot. It's more YA-NA but well done and with a great male MC :-)
