Book Title:Light In Shadow by Jayne Ann Krentz
Date Read: 13 July
Rating: 3 stars
Review:
A very light JAK novel. I haven't read much of her later works but this was a good time pass. The mystery portion was predictable for the most part. The relationship between Zoe and Ethan was done well though it ends as a HFN. I guess the next one should complete it. Overall, if you like JAK, this book will work for you.

Book Title:Seduction by Amanda Quick
Date Read: 22 July
Rating: 4 stars
Review:
I've been re-reading Amanda Quick this year. While some don't hold up to my first experience, I've enjoyed majority of them. They've become comfort reads and I can sit back and enjoy the reading. I really loved Sophy. Her character was so different and her interaction with Julian was very fun. I finished this in *almost* one sitting - it was that engrossing. I would recommend this book.

We're in the home stretch, team! It's been a lot of fun playing with you all this round. I was trying to poke through the other team threads to see where we stood. At least one team is all caught up and done with week 8 already, so it will likely be a quick end after the theme call on Friday.
This has become one of my favorite team games on this site. I'm gonna miss it!

go for it, logan. i have my book half-read, approximately.

This is the second (I think) round of this game, and it seems to be pretty popular so I hope they keep doing more rounds. I suppose it's up to whether Jane wants to keep running it. :)

Thanks beppy! It takes the pressure off me, and that way we'll all be ready to go for the final theme call. :)

That sounds amazing!!!"
I'm really enjoying it. It's a Paranormal Mystery. It reminds me a lot of A Discovery of Witches but shorter :)

..."
I hope she will! I appreciate the time and commitment she's put into it. It's makes it fun for the rest of us when things run so smooth! Thanks, Jane!!!
You've been a great captain, Logan! I appreciate all you're work, too!

We are going to run this twice a year - but for a bit longer than 9 weeks; 12 weeks or something. I have the dates somewhere, but I can't remember offhand what we decided. I know we are basically avoiding summer and Christmas holidays in the future :) I can't remember if we squish another PtP in this year...

Thanks Becky :)

Logan, I'm changing both my posts for Week 8.

Logan, I'm changing both my posts for Week 8."
Thanks Vi!

Theme 14: Main character is mega-wealthy
Option 2 key date: 22 January 2014 (must be rated at least 3 stars, and you can't go back further than this 'date read' if you select from a team-member's bookshelf)
You must note how this theme qualifies in your selection post including a link to a shelf with a word such as 'millionaire' or noting that the theme is evident on the GR summary page/blurb/precis.
Please don't be lazy and hope that your description is sufficient.
Words acceptable for shelf names are:
'Billionaire'
'Millionaire'
'Tycoon'
Or their expansions/contractions. 'Wealthy' and 'Rich' will not be sufficient.
I'm not taking any other possibilities for this round. The shelf or precis MUST have one of these words in it.

The Teacher's Billionaire
Pages: 196
Qualifies: "Billionaire" in title and précis

Logan read 7/9/14, 5 stars

Me, too! They are a really cool team and the last book was awesome. I'd like to see Patricia Briggs do a story centered on Bran finding love. I really like him and book #1 helped me understand why he's married to such a hag, but I still think he deserves a HEA. Maybe it's coming later... : )

Don't Look Down
pages: 384
how it qualifies: main character is a billionaire; mentioned in the précis

I couldn't find any book that fits this week's theme. So I scouted Nichole's shelves and shortlisted these:

Not sure which I'll read but will post back again.

A Hidden Fire- Paranormal Mystery
The Smoke Thief-Dragons! Fantasy Romance
Skinwalker-Jane was a mixture of my favorite heroines. Mercy/Gin/Kate

Review:
Let me start by saying that I listened to the audio of this book and it was beautifully done. There were small musical interludes between each part of the book that made you feel how much the music is part of the story.
Seventeen year old Mia is about to go off to Juilliard to follow her dreams of playing the cello. She's coming to terms with how hard it will be to leave her friends, family and the boy she loves. But before she can fully deal with that, tragedy strikes and the decision she must now make is much harder.
During an out-of-body experience she reflects on the people and moments of her life and how her decision will affect it all. This is a heart in your throat book and I teared up and cried many times. It was still beautiful and I can't wait to see the movie and read the next one. Watching the movie trailer, it looks like they did a pretty good job of it too!

Review:
I was in the mood for some romantic suspense and this fit the bill perfectly.
Devon is one strong heroine - the way she overcame her past and became a strong undercover agent is commendable. Jordan, the hero, was mostly a big a**hole when it counted. Both characters were written so that they came across as very efficient agents.
One small nitpick I had was that we didn't get to see the aftermath of Devon's attack. I would have liked to see how she recovered. It was alluded and said superficially but a little fleshed out would have been better. Devon and Jordan kept repeating their previous mistakes. You'd have though they learnt by now.
On the whole, a very good romantic suspense/thriller; the balance between romance and suspense was good.

I'm sad this round is ending. I had a lot of fun times with all of you and I was introduced to a lot of new books. I hope the next round starts soon.

Review:
This series just gets better and better! After years of being Bran's assassin and eliminating those wolves who threaten the well being of the pack, Charles is being haunted by their ghosts. The resulting guilt has affected his bond with Anna. In an effort to help Charles, Bran sends him to Boston with Anna, where they assist the FBI as they hunt for a serial killer.
The killer strikes again while they are in Boston and they join forces with the girl's father (a powerful fae) and a dark witch in hopes of finding her before it's too late. As always, there is excitement, suspense, fascinating creatures and danger.
I also love, love, LOVE, how Anna has come into her own after such a rough beginning. Her wit and strength are very endearing and she's perfect for Charles. As always, the chemistry between the couple is AMAZING. This was a great book and the ending was out of this world!

I found the timing for the next round :) Assuming we have enough interest, we'll kick off the next round in mid-Sep, timed to finish before Thanksgiving I *think* :)

review: matt is a single father with a teenage son, who makes his living as a captain of a charter boat, as well as a commercial fisherman. alison is new to the island, just looking for a place to belong. when she wants to meet her underachieving student's father, she meets matt. they are both attracted to each other, but matt doesn't let himself have relationships and alison doesn't want to go down the road of looking for love in every warm embrace again. amid family issues and small town gossip, matt and alison get to know one another.
what i liked: matt and alison. they worked well together. i liked that alison wasn't a typical uptight school teacher, and that matt wasn't a typical taciturn fisherman, even though he started out that way. i liked how they both put each other first. i also liked matt's family and his interactions with them.
what i didn't like: the ending felt a little abrupt and drama kept being thrown at everyone. i would have liked more concentration on the relationship. also, i kept trying to wrap my head around how alison got to be a teacher: she kept changing her major in college, did some volunteer work, was only 25 and somehow had a teaching degree, and had presumably had it for at least three years, since that was how long she had been actually teaching, not just as a practicum. i'm not sure that's even possible. other than that, i thought that the writing was good.

I had a great time, as usual, with this challenge and this team. I'm sure we shall all cross paths again. In the meantime, I will be

I know this is a lot of work and we appreciate all the hard work you put into it. So glad we'll have another round.

Oh, count me in! I'll watch for the signup thread!

Ditto!!!! Awesome work, Jane! You made it so easy for us to enjoy!
